It made cracking pecans so easy!

Omgosh, I had no idea how hard it is to crack walnut shells the old fashioned way when on of your hands no longer even closes properly. When Hubs found this and bought, I was like my granny's ghost is gonna be laughing, but you know what? Granny's ghost can stuff it, because I don't need the strength to use this. I can use my hands because there is little stress on them.It will take a bit to see how it works for you the best, but it does work.I had an epiphany about cracking walnuts. My sisters inlaws had a bumper crop of walnuts several years ago. She cracked and bagged up gallon bags to split for the family and OMGOSH, I never thanked her enough for the work she put in when had to do this myself. Of course I can't tell her that because we are not speaking because we both feel the other is an evil witch...so there's that.

This is an excellent device to crack the shells of pecans. My wife is an excellent cook and always is in need of pecan halves. This thing does the trick! It's easy to use, with a bit of muscle to depress the handle. It's a very good value for the money.

I have some thin shelled Texas pecans and one tree that has a thick hard shelled pecan. Both types crushed to bits no matter how slowly and carefully I proceeded. I have another type that delivers perfect halves with the thin shelled but is not good for my hard shelled. I think I'll just give up on these. I like to give mine away as gifts so I really want nice halves.

I had some doubts about the sturdiness of the nutcracker, but it surpassed my expectations, and it performed very well cracking walnuts. It shortened the time and effort by, at least, a half if not more, and no sore hands using a handheld cracker. Cracking walnuts fun and easy. After going through cracking two large boxes of walnuts, I've decided to purchase another one for a friend. One thing that helped to crack walnuts was to place the pointy side of walnuts toward the fixed side of the tool. The included pickers were quite useful to extract walnuts out of the shells. I recommend the cracker and pickers.
