Q: what type of batteries?

I was surprised to find that the 2 motion detectors in the HA-300 kit that I received on 10/15/2015 are powered by 2 AAA batteries. The instructions still say 9 volt. So far seems to work as advertised (40 feet and 110 degrees). 9 volts down to 3? Wonder how long they will last? Much easier to change than 9 volt.

Q: Is the alert chime in the audio range of a ringing phone tone or a door chime? I can't hear the high frequency squeaks of many alarms.

The alert is a beep similar to a cell phone's. Assuming normal hearing, it can be heard throughout an average house. The alarm is a loud screech and can be heard throughout an average neighborhood.

Q: Does it work with two story home? would the signal be able to pick up upstairs?

I have the motion detector set up, at the top of my steps, on my ground floor front porch. The alert part is on the 2nd floor in a bedroom, on a back wall, at the very back of the house (roughly 75' from detector to alert). I really didn't expect it to work but it it works every time.

Q: Does this unit work on garage doors that tilt open rather that sectional panels that retract vertically toward the ceiling?

Its been a couple of years since your question so this is for anyone later wondering the same thing. If the "Garage Door Sensor Accessory" is the selected accessory above and you look at the picture of it attached to a garage door you may note it is shown attached to the bottom of a sectional door system. Since the door you mention is a "tilt" (opens like a car trunk) simply attach the device to one side of the door and then tack a nice piece of 1" plank several inches long on the door sill so the plunger closes against it. Or, if convenient attach the accessory to the side door sill of the wall so the door closes against the device's plunger and presses it back in.
