This is one of the worst textbooks I have ever had to use.
There are mistakes in the examples and the problems at the end of the chapters. If it weren't for Chegg (they have the solutions), I would not have been successful using this book alone. Poorly written, and this book assumes the reader knows something about electronics to begin with while using the book. I had to use this book in a class to complete an electrical engineering requirement for my engineering discipline other than electronics. I have 20 years of experience with electronics via the US Air Force, and were it not for that experience, everything in this book would have been foreign. The other students in the class relied heavily on other internet sources, and would have been lost if this book was their only source of knowledge. I bet this book was written by a couple of ego-maniac profs that get a kick out of using their own book. It sucks! I feel sorry for you if you have to use this book on your first jump into the electronics world.

Poor explanations... Poor examples...
Through my college career, I have run into incredibly well written books. This is not one of them. Explanations are short, and half-arsed. Many examples leave steps out, implying that you should 'know' them. I'm not one of those students who can sit through a lecture and understand everything the professor says. I rely heavily on books to explain anything and everything that I might have missed.

Not a good choice. For a book to cover intro EE stuff
This book is not that great. Again the purpose of the book is to explain concepts and how to implement them. The author does a poor job. Consider borrowing this book.

Bad condition, bad book
Book is in terrible condition.Book is terrible at explaining concepts. Prior knowledge is the only way I can follow this book - and my professor is the author...
