There truly are no chicharrones on the market quite like 4505's chicharrones
Wow. There truly are no chicharrones on the market quite like 4505's chicharrones. Upon inspecting the package, I saw that 4505's are hormone free, antibiotic free, and they have the rare humanely raised attribute as well. There aren't many pork skin sources out there that meet those standards (even organic doesn't mandate this last I checked). Plus their ingredient panel is super clean, making this the healthiest & most natural chicharron/pork rind out there from what I can tell. I also appreciate that there are 0 grams of sugar per serving (albeit a tiny bit of coconut palm sugar). As if all this wasn't enough, it's EASILY the best tasting I've ever had. It's like a completely different food compared to the Bakenet's or store brand pork rinds of my youth. These are super fluffy, and have a cleaner taste. With the commodity style pork rinds, I would always get really hard uncooked/overcooked pieces (not sure which?) that couldn't be chewed. Not so with 4505. The founder is a Michelin Start chef, maybe that's why these taste so much better. Wish I knew how he does it.Summary: Healthiest and best tasting chicharrones/pork rinds out there!

My favorite!
These are so good. I would order more often but they are pricey. They are so light, airy and super crunchy. :-) And they are rendered in pork fat. Which is important to me because I don't want any inflammatory oils in my diet. I know that some other brands are cooked in olive oil but I only use olive oil for cold preparations. Drizzling over food and salad dressings.

Good, but missing the perfect texture characteristic of a fresh package from original SF location.
I first tried these in San Francisco, back when they were pretty much only available at the Ferry Building Farmers Market held a few days a week. They were the most delicious chicharrones I had ever tasted, with perfect airy texture that melted in your mouth. I don't think I even enjoyed chicharrones before. I'm glad to see they're widely available now since I moved across the country, but haven't had a package that came close to the freshness of the original stand in SF. Its hit or miss - some are pretty good and some are really stale.

Disappointing
My decision to purchase was cued by some online reviews. I want to stress that this is a subjective opinion based on personal taste preferences of both my son and myself. I believe that this was also exaggerated by what I would consider overly generous online reviews. I'll start off by describing what we typically enjoy:- Good crisp rind with little varying textures between pieces (smaller crunchy and larger fluffy)- Intense flavor on some pieces, with good heatWe ordered the Classic Chili&Salt (premo online), along with the Jalapeño Cheddar (half price). Both products arrived quickly, and had free shipping (chili was $15 for 4 bags, and Jalapeño was $20 for 4 bags)The Chili&Salt arrived on 7/5/2019 with a sellby of 9/21/2019. While it was within the sellby, the texture was rather flat, almost stale, and the flavor was extremely "pork forward" - meaning very little seasoning at all. So plain and flat - hardly remarkable otherwise. The Jalapeño Cheddar arrived on 7/5/2019 with a sellby of 11/16/2019. With more "time on the clock" it was noticeably crisper, but still had some deficiency in the overall texture and flavor department. I bet either product could almost pass as "plain", having very subtle difference in flavor between jalapeño and chili products. I suspect the intention was to make the pork rind "the star of the show", by omitting any "supporting actors".One thing I noticed is the high quality packaging. I dont know the overall shelf life of this product, but I suspect that I received product that may have been sitting a bit. Perhaps exposed to higher ambient temps in storage. The extra heavy mylar packaging is of high quality though, and it seems there was no expense spared in that department. I would imagine that any product would be absolutely safe from oxygen/moisture in this heavy mylar packaging.Pieces were generally uniform and well trimmed (no soggy or fatty pieces) with a more of a "flat cheese puff" type texture. There was sufficient air cushion in the packaging, so there was next to no damage to the pieces (no pork dust at the end of the bag).My overall take on this product, I wish I would have tried it at a local retailer for ~$3 a bag, give it a try. However, it was really not worth the 4 bag purchase IMO, and I will be passing on this brand in the future.

Small bags of MMMMMMMM
I wasn't expecting much, when I first got this brand as part of a sampler of different pork rind brands, due to the others in the sampler being a bit subpar. These are AMAZEBALL! Seriously, they're so good, well worth the extra price.Really, my Only complaint is that the package is so damn small! Need bigger bags of yumminess, poste haste!

Salty, Salty, Salty...
I heard on a recent podcast that these were top notch. I got a batch on Amazon, anticipating a great product. When I opened the first bag, I was hit by a strong chemical smell which dissipated after a few minutes. After two rinds, i was overwhelmed by the saltiness of the rinds. Not good at all. If they were less salty, I might have been able to enjoy the chili flavor, but the saltiness blew out my taste buds. I have little faith that the second bag will be any better. Given the number of Mexican marts near me, I'll stick with the expert brands in the future!

Positively Pigtastic!
These were absolutely outstanding! Sooo much better than I expected! I'm on my second week of a keto diet and I have been craving a salty snack. These fit the bill and then some! They are salty and slightly spicy and just all around delicious! I am sooo thankful I found something to curb those salt cravings! Will DEFINITELY be buying again!

Spendy but very good.
These chicharrones are delicious but very expensive for what you get. If (and that's a big if) Costco has them, they are cheaper there. However, they fly out the door of our Costco so you can't depend on them being there.'
