Kudos to Ms March for another winner
I was given the opportunity of listening to the audiobook version of this story, and couldn’t wait to start it. Why? Because, whether you are a long time fan of Ms March’s , or new to her stories, her books are always engaging. This one was no different. The beginning of this series lets us know that four brothers, who were considered the Bad Boys of Brazos Bend, left the town without looking back. Each one has his reasons, the main one being their father. The symbolism of their names, Luke, Matthew, Mark and John doesn’t go unnoticed. This one centers around Luke . He is an ex-DEA agent whose partner was killed and he feels responsible for that death. He now lives on a boat he has restored , with a dog that adopted him. On board he finds a stowaway, Maddie Kincaid. She has come searching for Luke’s partner. She needs help since she is possession of some illegal items and people are after her. Instead, Maddie ends up finding Luke. Or was that done on purpose by someone else?Suffice it’s to say , this story has a well developed plot filled with suspense, murderers, drugs, and who done it. But there is more to the story than that. It’s a story about parents expectations and actions. About how circumstances in our youth affects us as adults. About how guilt can hinder us and might cause us to give up happiness. That even though our hearts might get hurt, we should not give up on love. It’s a story about family, forgiveness , hope and love.Looking forward to the next Callahan brother’s story.Kudos to Ms March for another winner.I was gifted this audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Bad Luck Grandson
I loved the Bad Luck Series. It was flirty and funny. Her we continue with one of the great grandsons in this mystery adventure of who killed who and who blackmailed who. Maddie is on the run for her life. Luke is trying to find his. Together they piece together the who, what, how, and why of the happenings in Brazos Bend to make Maddie safe. Maddie is the child of a rock star that wants the white picket fence but is not sure she will find it? She thinks she has when she stumbles across some drug mushrooms. One of her clients gives her a bit of misleading information and she lands in the arms of Luke. After telling him her story he calls some help and then thinks all is good. While fishing with his brothers, he realizes that is not the case. He rides in to rescue her and to solve the issue. Crossing old haunts and revisiting obligatory he finds that not all is as he thinks is was suppose to be. Old hurts are uncovered, brought out in the open and you see where loyalties lie.************** SPOILER INFO ******************As the mystery of an old missing person case is involved, blackmailing, and old grudges surface; we find our couple fighting for their lives. Maddie unwittingly finds pictures of the blackmail but sends them to her rock star father. Not knowing that's what is in the "box" that has the answers. Luke is dealing with the grief of losing his partner at work when Maddie enters his life. Not wanting to have roots where his father is, from letting his brother get killed in a ransom gone bad, Luke tells Maddie he cannot live in Brazos Bend. However, he is willing to stay to solve the mystery to keep her safe. In the kiosk of all that is happening the fall in love. All works out in the end. Can't wait to read the others.

Good
Loved most of this book. Great hero and heroine. The heroine being my favorite. Loved her personality and no TSTL moments. It kept my interest from start to finish. I liked the people in the town. I seriously laughed out loud of few times. I had this rated (in my head) a five star book until Luke left town at the end. If he had came to his senses and went back to her, instead of her having to tracking him down, and then having to convince him that he loved her, it may have still been a five. But he didn't.....His reasons seemed lame, and that just didn't endear him to me. It kind of dulled the book's sparkle. Just seem like if she wanted to be with him she was the one who had to give up her wants & dreams. While he got all his wants without even offering to give up anything. It was still a good book. The ending may not bother anyone else. I may just be in a mood. Seems like most books out there have a hero that takes the "She better off without me" junk, high road, and it gets old.So this book to me was a 3 1/2 or 4 Star. Would defiantly read more from this author.

Brazos bend
Maddie moved to Brazos bend and started a care company little did she know how her life would change. Finding drugs in the for of magic mushrooms her life became dangerous fleeing to the help she needed in the form of a DEA officer a friend had sent her to. She found her life became scary . The person she was ment to go to for help was not there but his ex partner was Luke Callahan was it was made more difficult because Luke father had sent her . Luke didn't believe the story she told at first more complicated things took place first her house was burnt down then she was kidnapped . During her capture she was shot Luke blamed himself , but he stayed with her till she was eventually discharged then he left Brazos bend. Life after that was pretty hard for both of them but Maddie went after Luke and they found true love . This story has many upsets misunderstanding and finally happiness wins. Brilliant storyline keeps you reading and guessing .

Enjoyable
I liked this book. Yes, there were explicit sex scenes but honestly, I don't understand the fuss. It's not unusual in romance novels unless you stick specifically to the sweet romance rather than steamy. Besides, they really weren't that bad!The book was well-written and it was a good story. The characters were likable (Yeah, Luke had a past but it was behind him and he'd turned his life around. Characters who have always been perfect are two-dimensional and shallow. This book avoided that). It was a good, enjoyable read.

Rxcellent plotting.
Great characters and fast-moving action. The plotting is excellent, with interesting background stories. I liked the Brazos Bend setting and would like to read more in the series.
