Works well, my children enjoy it.
I originally bought this same engine on eBay for a bit more than I paid on Amazon. The eBay description said "NIB", which, I am assured, stands for New in Box. The eBay item was missing the rear coupler, which, of course, is the hook which pulls the train cars. So, not all that useful for making a train. I was refused a refund, told "items sold as is".Is eBay populated solely by nasty, money-grubbing dirtbags, or are there actually some decent people involved? This engine works just as it should. It pulls 12 cars around an eight foot oval without any problems. It even pushes the cars if one should want such a thing. My children and I am very happy with it.

Great looking/running locomotive from Walthers
This Boston & Maine locomotive runs as great as it looks. Fantastic detail for a lower cost, ready to run locomotive. Walthers continues to amaze me with great quality for the price. In an age where a new H.O. locomotive can run $200, it's great to find Walthers' Trainline series which offer great bang for the buck! I had recently also purchased a similar Santa Fe locomotive that runs and looks just as great.

Nice little engine, I’m old school DC layout so it works just fine for me. My first Walthers, I’m very happy with the quality.
