Constantly Rebooting FIXED
Update:2/2/2023The rebooting issue has been fixed with a firmware update! All is well, great camera now. 5 Stars but I'd still like the speaker to be a bit louder/better.Previous 3 Star review:I tested this Camera before installing it. It seemed to work fine. Not long after installation the video started to drop out and the camera reboot. I tried connecting the power with no extension with same result. The camera is wired and the ping is less than 1 millisecond! I shall try a return and also I plan a call to support. Quite disappointed as I see someone else with the same problem.Update: I did call support who had me reset the camera (hold button on back for a few seconds). It worked fully afterwards but as soon as I added it back to my NVR as well as having it on the phone app the problem reoccurred. I removed it from the NVR for now and everything works perfectly. I will check with Support for the proper setup. Looking forward to giving 5 Stars because the video quality and P&T (No Zoom) is excellent, the speaker could be a bit louder tho but overall I'm quite satisfied.

Cameras are junk.
I run Amcrest cameras and an Amcrest HD NVR throughout my property and NEVER had an issue with Amcrest’s hardware until… I purchased 3 of these cameras and DANG do they suck!! I purchased a Poe splitter so I could keep the cameras hardwired so I wouldn’t have lag issues that always come with wifi cameras and these cameras kept going offline, login timeout return, or would just be a black screen for hours with no recording. When there was picture and motion passed in front of these cameras they would freeze up and go through the offline, login timeout, etc, etc again. I purchased 3 of the 4mp PTZ cameras as I have 1 of those (I think model ASH-47) in my dog yard and that camera works perfectly with a Poe splitter. Save yourself the time and headache with these camera and just walk away. Pick up the 4mp PTZ as the smart track actually works and the quality really isn’t noticeably different!! Also don’t bother with Amcrest’s “Tech Support” as they are literally no help, take days, sometimes weeks to get back to ya and when they do they have no clue what they’re talking about. Honestly if you’re not tech savvy stay far away from Amcrest as you’ll be overly disappointed, their hardware is amazing though which is why I still use them.

I replaced an old foscam with this.... wow!
The nighttime quality and resolution on this camera surprised me. Wish it had a dome or rain shield to keep the water off the lens. This thing lights up my front walkway with the IR really well, well over 100', the flash LED also works pretty well and is sufficient enough I can tell whom the human is walking up to my door. I have a mixture of AMCREST and FOSCAM IP CAMS around the home; the FOSCAMs were always acceptable but updating and tweaking were always a PITA, and of course security concerns, and where they are made. They still have not updated the apps to work with anything other than the old IE browser, which windows is dumping. But this is a really good camera for the price range and home or small business use.

Amazing Camera Sensor Hobbled By Poor Software
The claim about color in the dark is really true. Not total darkness but very dim light is sufficient to get a decent color picture. The camera is better than my eyes for sensing color in very low light. You can tell there is a lot of image processing going on to make that picture work as well as a really nice sensor. In adequate, bright light the image quality is top shelf for these kinds of cameras. The software that runs the camera, while better than the previous generation, is buggy, primitive, and buries important features. The control program called Surveillance Pro should have the ability to operate all camera features as if they were actual controls, but this is not the case. Some controls such as whether the camera uses an IR sensor and IR light or a visible sensor and a white light are only accessible from setup and not from the viewing interface. Why not? Other controls are only available if you use a web browser and even others are presented differently between web browser and Surveillance Pro. Why?The camera is also prone to crashing which is no doubt firmware related. Some crashing I managed to reduce by cutting the frame rate, but it could not be eliminated. The "pro" software isn't really pro. It's marginally usable but really could be far better given the capabilities of the camera. All this considered, there is nothing in this price range that compares. So I am going to get another one and probably will settle on using them and try to work around the limitations.Picture 1 shows the moon, not the sun, pre-dawn. The sun is not yet illuminating even the sky. The blue is strictly from the moonlight.Picture 2 is in full daylight near midday.Picture 3 is IR with the dog about 30 feet away and the edge of the slab about 75 ft away.Picture 4 shows a truck about 50 feet away, a propane tank about 120 feet distant and the lights in the center background are about 4 miles.
