Once you make the mold, does the product come out shiney or matte?

How many times can it be remelted?

No limit as long as you don’t boil it too many times. Heat it but don’t cool it and you can make dozens, even hundreds of molds. Thanks! Happy Mold making!

If I casted half of a clay model with it, let it harden, then poured more on top to make the other half of the mold, could I separate them?

If you want :) If you want them to separate, let the first half cool, wipe that side with a little mold release (vegetable oil or mineral oil), chill this half, then pour the second part when the ComposiMold is a little cooler but still liquid. If you want the two parts to connect into a single mold, pour while warmer and don't add the mold release. Lots of videos available showing this on our ComposiMold learn page. Thank you! I want to use this for lotion bars which I pour around 100-200 degrees depending if I use essential oils. What is the melting temp of the mold?

ComposiMold melts at 135 F (55 C), but you can do higher temperatures by chilling your mold first, typically up to about 150ish F (65 C). The soap or wax will cool before the ComposiMold has a chance to melt. So place the ComposiMold in the freezer for a bit prior to pouring in your casting materials, and it can make great castings. You might also like to experiment with using our ImPRESSive Putty (also re-usable), which can handle temperatures up to about 200 F (95 C). Thanks! Stan from ComposiMold
