Powerful! Still strong a year later.
I did a LOT of research before buying this about a year ago. I wanted something strong and powerful, with the sturdy, old-fashioned wide bars on the beaters (not those flimsy wire ones). I use mine most often to make cookie dough, and I use it at least twice a month for that (and sometimes as much as twice a week, for multiple batches). This has NO PROBLEM quickly creaming the butter/sugar, and even after adding the flour and chocolate chips it mixes just fine. It bucks a little, but not bad at all.If it were a boxer it would be in the Heavyweight class, not light or bantam. It packs a punch because it has a big motor. However, the way the handle connects you can hold it from the back instead of arching your wrist over the top, so the weight is easier to hold than my older, lighter mixer. If you're doing something thin, use a deep bowl because it WILL splatter everywhere, just because it's super powerful. It does whipped cream with the whisk attachment beeYOOtifully and quicker than you'd think possible if you've been using a cheapy crummy mixer. I've used it to make buttercream/cream cheese icing with superlative results. The only problem I've had is with doing egg whites, but then I discovered I shouldn't try to make pavlova when it's rainy because the eggs won't ever stiffen, so that's not the mixer's fault! It wipes clean easily, and I like that the storage is incorporated though it took a while to get used to.All in all I am VERY pleased with this mixer. I waited a long time to leave a review, since I am using it pretty hard and wanted to make sure it lasted long enough to be worth it. I make cookies a lot, partially because I love cookies (and hubby does too) but also because with a good hand mixer it's ridiculously easy and faster than running to the store to pick up something to take to a dinner or friend's house. This is a GREAT mixer-- but don't sue me if you end up using it so much you get type II diabetes. :-)

Great mixer, just the cord twist takes effort
Great powerful mixer. Wonderful, except the way the cord is wound up takes some effort. You have to twist the bottom of the mixer, and it's not that easy. Other than that it's a terrific powerful mixer

!!! Dont buy this !! One Beater will not seat in!
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this mixer one year and one month ago. I would assume I probably didn’t get it until a week after I ordered so even less than what I stated above. I’m not a professional baker. I use this moderately on things like cakes and cupcakes and maybe either occasional I’m lazy pancake batter mixing so it hasn’t been abused in anyway. I am frustrated with the quality of this product being it’s not that old and it’s already broke. The beater on the hexagon shaped sigh, started binding with the other beater while I was mixing and then stopped mixing. I pulled the mixer out the beater fell into the bowl and on the meter was a small ring. I looked into the hole where the beater houses and noticed that there was a broken plastic piece inside where that plastic piece is now I don’t know it possibly couldn’t be in my batter. It’s amazing how products only last the one year manufacturers warranty and then their big pile of garbage. I will not buy this product again and no, I don’t recommend it to anyone unless of course they wanna throw their money in the garbage as I will be doing as soon as I get done with this review, hope y’all have a great day!

Great beaters and power.
Great mixer! I use it frequently, have had it for a couple of years now. It’s hard to find a brand that doesn’t have those flimsy wire beaters. These beaters are solid! And the motor had plenty of power. I’ll never buy another brand.

great device
Talk about a strong mixer, the slow speed to me is a fast speed on my old mixer. It’s on the heavy side, but that’s ok as it’s sturdy built and it mixes my cookie batter fast. The reason why i bought this mixer was because of the metal beaters and the retractable cord. I think i need to buy a deeper bowl so the batter doesn’t spill onto the cupboard lolImportant advice, put your beaters in first before plugging in, just incase you don’t have it turned off as the beaters spin fast

Expensive hand mixer - Defective mixer gears
This hand mixer failed several months after purchase. The "round beater socket" gear stripped (made of plastic). Cost to ship to Dualit repair ($16). (No cost for gear replacement or return shipping.) Gear failed again late 2024. Dualit declined to replace stripped gear, but offered to supply the gear part for $10, plus $9 shipping fee. The hand mixer was used no more than several times per month, chiefly for beating whipping cream or eggs (I use either my Viking or Kitchen Aid counter stand mixers for heavy batters). Clearly there is some other defect in the mechanism of this hand mixer. It would be more cost effective to purchase cheap "throw away" mixers that cost less than half of what I paid for this mixer from Amazon.

LOVE this mixer!
This is the best hand or stand mixer I've ever owned! POWERFUL. As good as a KA stand mixer (which I gave away after getting this one) but MUCH more convenient. The only downside is that it is so powerful. There is not really a low speed, but I have a "not nearly as powerful hand mixer" (the reason I bought this one) that I can use for light mixing. Be aware that the BEATERS ARE SIDE SPECIFIC (one is a hexagon at the top, the other a circle). One of my best purchases!

Versatile, Compact & Sturdy
I don't have space on my counters for a stand mixer but make lots of breads and things that require whipping ( souffles meringues mousse etc.) so I am very happy with the Dualit 88520 and have recommended it to many friends. It comes with a whisk, a pair of dough hooks and a pair of standard beaters. It has a powerful motor for its small size and light weight and the wind in cord makes it easy to store. I have open shelving in a stainless kitchen so I also appreciate its good looks. The whisk is an amazing invention--fast and fluffy with egg whites and cream. The lo speed isn't lo enough for mixing dry ingredients and the dough hooks work better with fairly moist doughs but for the price and quality, it is hard to beat for someonne like me who has no room for a stand mixer.
