Gets the Job Done!
I've owned a Milwaukee 1\2" HD in-line hammer drill (Sears close out sale 20 yrs back). It drills well, but unless I was hammering in fresh concrete or soft bricks, it just couldn't handle dense and old concrete setups. Over the years, I had to rent HD SDS hammer drills to effectively perform patio & slab drilling...that adds up and gets expensive! After again burning out several 3\8" and 1\2" masonry bits with my old M. drill on my hard 20yr. slab, I decided to invest in a SDS+ Rotary Hammer drill. This lighter weight, smaller size DeWalt D25313K had the perfect ergonomics, features, durability and price point I was looking for. The hard case is good and the drill operates very well. With a 1\2" SDS+ bit, it hammered out a 6" deep hole in my hard home slab in less than 10 seconds...Wow!Too bad I spent almost the same money in rentals all these years, but now own the correct tool to get the difficult jobs Done Right...the 1st Time!!

Very nice machine.
Purchased for home owner use on an earthquake retro-fit project. Excellent tool for its intended use. It will not bust concrete but it will certainly drill the heck out of it and perform light weight chipping or de-scaling. Extremely good ergonomics. Quiet operation, low vibration, lightweight, comfortable, easy adjust hand grip that is solid and secure with no wiggle. Motor/fan does not blow dust around. Compact size fits tight spaces. I used a standard grade 5/8" concrete bit and it took less than 30 seconds to drill a hole 7" deep in typical non-reinforced concrete. Bored about 50 holes in half an hour. Mine came in a nice Dewalt plastic case with stout metal clasps. Money well spent.

It Works, Plain and Simple
We decided to upgrade and replace our pool fence, which required 36 new posts with four holes each. Our pool deck is 4000 psi concrete due to freezing and thawing issues, so it was a great test to throw at the unit. The drill went to work, and got the job done without a whimper! It was actually more comfortable to use than my Hilti drill. The drill was easy to handle, and the depth gauge made quick work of 120+ holes.Would I purchase this drill again? Yup, but I don't think i'll need to.July 16, 2016: Well, I have been using the heck out of this hammer drill for a bit over 2 years, and I am as happy today as I was when I left my original review. I have worn out a number of bits, but the hammer drill just keeps pluggin' along! Not one complaint, still a happy camper!

a perfect rotary hammer for the homeowner
Performed as expected. Lightweight and compact, a perfect rotary hammer for the homeowner. The three mode operation is an invaluable feature that adds the versatility I was looking for. This tool joins the mini-arsenal of DEWALT power tools in my "gun locker". DEWALT tools have never failed to perform and their strength and dependability are gratefully appreciated. So far, this rotary hammer has never failed to deliver from concrete drilling to chipping to large bore wood drilling. Exceptionally pleased with this purchase.

Worth the money, way faster than a hammer drill.
I bought this to use instead of a conventional hammer drill. It is so much less work. I can drill holes 10x faster.I do wish I had ponied up for the cordless version so I wouldn't have to drag a cord around. So far I have drill about 200 3/16 holes and haven't had to struggle with it at all.If I had tried that with my 18v makita it would have caught on fire after the first 10 holes.

Light and works well- We use for Sammy Super Screws
We are a sprinkler contractor and find this much lighter than the Hilti. After using it overhead all day lighter means a lot and at half the price.

Lacked expected power to bust concrete
I own a HF hammer drill for 10 yrs. It has served me well. But on a recent project where I had to chisel stucco 17ft above ground I needed something lighter and more compact. I guess I was expecting too much out of this Dewalt. I don't have the patience to play games when I'm high off the ground. All this Dewalt did was made noise but barely dented the stucco. I even used a brand new chisel bit. Out of frustration I reverted to using my old hammer drill and the stucco broke to pieces in 2 sec. I gave the Dewalt a final test in hammer mode against a brick on the ground. It took nearly 10 sec under heavy pressure for the brick to break. It broke cleanly and didn't crumble as I'd expected. My old hammer drill in less time turned the brick to crumbled chunks. I have nothing against the Dewalt brand as I own other Dewalt tools. But this was unexpected for a brand new tool and I had to return the product the same day I received it. I'll stick with my HF hammer drill until I find a better replacement; most likely NOT a Dewalt.

Good lightweight demolition hammer
This tool along with the Bosch HS1465 Tile Chisel made fast work of removing ceramic tile and concrete backer board. Be sure to use your safety glasses and earmuffs because this job is loud. I also used it with a different chisel to break up some concrete on a foundation wall so I could put in a gutter drain. It has the power needed to tackle these types of homeowner tasks. It is light enough that you will not have fatigue even when removing about 250 square feet of tile.I have yet to use the drilling feature as it has only been used as a small demo hammer but I am sure that function works well too.6/3/2015 I have since used this to drill 1/2" diameter holes into a friends foundation wall to attach a rim joist for a deck. It made quick work of the holes. Only had one slight problem, on the first hole I drilled too deep and after driving in the wedge anchor there were not many threads to attach the nut. We had to recess the joist to make room for the nut. No problem with the drill, just be careful on depth if drilling for anchors.I would buy this again.
