Great alternative
Bought this as I needed a heat gun to go with my makita tools/batteries for on site. Works great batteries connect no problem and I (without choice) had to use it on site during heavy rain. Heats very quick and is a fantastic alternative to spending hunders on the makita made heat gun

Good for heating tanking membrane, though there may be reliability issues.
We bought 2 of these heat guns to help us apply the tanking membrane to ICF sub-basement on a self-build plot that does not yet have mains electricity. One had to be returned and replaced as the heating element ceased to work after only an hours usage. Generally, they fulfilled our needs, heating up the membrane to enable it to stick to the ICF. The over-heat protection circuit would cut off fairly often, which was a bit annoying. We used 4* 5.0Ah batteries which lasted a whole day, but remember they were not it constant use for that time. I'd say that this is a pretty good alternative to the far more expensive Makita option, but I'm not sure how it would stand up to 'professional' usage.

It’s hot but not that hot!
Ok so I had little hope for this but simply needed one so if it did the job once, I would be happy. Well I am happy! It’s a great bit of kit that lasts about 5 mins on a 4Ah battery although the fit for the batteries could be better! It’s ok! Update: this thing gets to about 260c Maximum. It is ok for heat shrink but that also depends on size, it struggles to heat the big stuff.

Better than Milwaukee
I bought this as a Makita one isn't available in the UK yet and I didn't want to buy a new battery system, and I and very surprised at the quality and performance of this product , as an auto electrician I use this type of device daily and have found that this mellif one out performs the Milwaukee one other electricians at my work have bought, it gets hotter than the Milwaukee one and heats up just as quick if not a bit quicker, I do recommend using a 5ah battery with it though as with all these cordless heat guns, they eat batteries
