Excellent value for its low price, but with a caveat
I've now had this "Ubante UBS-150" for about 18 months and am generally well-satisfied with its accuracy and repeatability (as checked against an old but very accurate Starrett micrometer that even 25 years ago cost hundreds of dollars). What I do not like is the design of the "Off - On" function. Perhaps my unit is defective in this regard, but from having read some other reviewer comments, I tend to think this is just "how it works." Namely... The unit turns on either by pressing the "Off - On" switch or by simply rotating the "thumb roller" to move the head along the beam. But it then NEVER TURNS OFF unless one explicitly presses the "Off - On" button again. There seems to be no 'auto off' function to shut down the unit automatically (say after half and hour of not being touched) - so as to save the battery. It is maddenly easy to do the 'explicit button push' to turn off the unit and then, in placing it back in the case, to inadvertently move the thumb roller. Days or weeks later one opens the case to find the display still on. Or not: wait too long and the battery is stone dead and requires replacement. The included instruction sheet never mentions the Brand Name or Model No. of the unit (Ubante UBS-150 in my case, as printed [only] on the unit's outer cardboard box [i.e., not even on the very nice plastic case]). That probably suggests that this digital caliper is sold under more than a single brand name.In any case, the instruction sheet does say "To save power, turn off the unit when not in use," so unfortunately it appears no 'auto off' feature was built into its operation - a very poor design decision that will require keeping a supply of LR44 button batteries nearby (or the need to be really careful in looking one last time, every time, at the display before closing the case - to ensure it's REALLY off).Apart from this one flaw, I am well satisfied thus far with it accuracy and repeatability, especially considering the low price.

A good knock-around set of calipers.
At work, I use a set of Mitutoyo calipers. At home, I use whatever works for a reasonable price. These calipers fit that description.Import calipers have gotten pretty good. I won't say that these are as good as Mitutoyos (they're not), but they're all I need for quick sanity checks on the lathe. If I want precision I reach for the micrometers. For 95% of what I do, these work.I like that they turn on automatically when you open the jaws. I also like that you can measure in imperial or metric. Imperial measurements can be decimal or fractional, which is handy for things like drill bits.I haven't found anything I don't like, and I've used them a fair amount. They seem reasonably accurate and the measurements don't drift. All in all a good buy.

Solid Value
I purchased one of these for work a couple of years ago. We're not building space ships but I wanted something to measure with reasonable precision features where a regular machinist's ruler just doesn't work very well. I like them so much I just bought a second set to keep at home in the garage. Measurements are accurate and very repeatable. The thumbwheel and slide motion are reasonably smooth. The locking screw has never loosened up on me after I've set it. It just... works. As far as a "long-term" review for the one I've had for awhile: it's used on average at least half a dozen times per week. It's not exactly babied, but it does go back in its case and then the drawer at the end of the day. I've replaced the batteries two or three times now. Otherwise it works just the same and just as well as when new.

I had high hopes, but nope.
After 4-5 inches, pullout the digital readout fails and displays random numbers.Up to that point, it worked ok.This is for right-handed folks. Sucks using left handed. My Review-Its made of plastic and metal, but the metal is cheap.Risk of bending depth gauge is real, little looseIts okay, minor prone to spot rusts. The thumb wheel is loose, better if tighter. The housing is meh. Can see gaps, which increases risk of wood bits getting in.I am going to guess most similar calipers will perform the same:Accurate enough for most projects but may fail when measuring beyond 4 inches somewhere in its lifespan. It is cheap though

Worth the money!
I researched and read tons of reviews before making this purchase. I'm using it to measure the screws on my iPhone I'm repairing (my magnet ate them and now they're all mixed up😱) I've never used a caliper so didn't know what to expect. All I wanted was a good quality, affordable caliper that would be accurate up to .01mm. When I opened the box I was impressed by how well made it looked and felt. I noticed it came with a battery so I went to install my battery and found that was a spare...yes 2 batteries. Then I got my 1 tiny little screw that I knew for sure was 1.6 mm. It measured 1.58 mm. I'm very happy with my purchase and wanted to write this review for anyone who can't decide. This is a winner!

Does its job
Its about par with HF calipers. Unlike most in this price range it didn't come with a bent depth stem (the stem on the back that comes out) usually it's bent from too hot a grind job or angled from a poor weld. Readings are of course spot on but the travel feels very gritty despite being thoroughly cleaned. By contrast iGaging makes a similar set, but the travel feels consistent like you're rolling a dowel pin across a mouse pad. This feels more like dragging a penny over a piece of sandpaper... If that makes sense. So, imperfect feel, BUT it should give accurate readings. I use this one for reloading and around the house stuff. This is NOT a low cost professional option, seek out shars or igaging for that,
