I would buy this brand of product again!
This is my first non L-brand brick toy. I enjoyed it. The style is a bit different but that was enjoyable. I like that there was a toy to play with once the build was completed. I found the item on sale but would have gladly paid its retail price. I would recommend this toy to others who are interested in buildable playthings.

Son loved it !!!
The directions were very easy to follow! My son really enjoyed that the directions were color coded and specific! Tasks like this are usually too frustrating to for him to complete without assistance but he did it all on his own! Highly recommend!!!

Ages 5+ is accurate
I was excited to get this buildable monster truck as I was in search of a gift for a little one who likes anything that has wheels, but especially monster trucks and tractors. The age on this set is 5+ and I think that’s accurate beings it has some small pieces. There’s 69 total pieces and the little mini figure. The directions were easy to follow and the graphics were nice and simple, but I still had to help by showing him where each piece went. I wouldn’t say they were hard to put the pieces together but it seemed to be more difficult than a Lego set and some of the really small pieces needed more effort. It was still really good for hand eye coordination and these little sets do a lot for young minds and also help with STEM skills for the future.Once it was put together it seems sturdy as long as they aren’t throwing it around or trying to do tricks with it. It’s a fun toy to push around and race with other cars. The price is more than fair for what you get and this is a great toy to give as a gift.

Perfect for any monster truck and LEGO lover
My 5-year-old absolutely LOVES anything monster truck related. He has quite the collection of Hot Wheels and Monster Jam trucks. He’s also a huge LEGO fan and will spend hours building and creating with his bricks collection. When this arrived, he was all too excited to rip into the box and start assembling his new toy.First thing’s first though—this is made by Hot Wheels, not LEGO, but the bricks are definitely compatible to LEGOs. They are also equal in quality. I mention this as some off-brand bricks don’t work as well and aren’t completely compatible with LEGOs. I found these bricks to be nice and smooth and join easily. My son made quick work of building his monster truck. The instructions/illustrations are clear, allowing him to do everything himself, with exception of one part where he mistakenly added an extra piece and threw off the rest of the build. Once I spotted the error and helped him correct it, he was back to building. The little monster truck driver is really cute as well, and larger than the standard LEGO figure. At its current listing price of $12, this is priced very well and would make a great birthday gift.

Easy to build and stays together!
This is really cute and compatible with regular Legos. My son is only 3 but he’s a master builder. We had fun putting it together…. he did most of it! My biggest complaint is the excessive packaging. There were about it 4-6 packages of pieces, but each one had another package inside of it. I literally filled up one of his toy bins with plastic! I didn’t see much rhyme or reason with the way the pieces were sorted; one or two packs would have been fine. The wheels and tires are made well. No stickers to put on anything, but you do have to make sure the words line up (like Hot Wheels). The little man was already put together luckily, but every time we tried putting him in the truck the legs or arms popped off.Took about 15 mins for us to put it together! We have two sets and now he’s having fun mixing and matching them. Trent remind me of the Lego vehicle sets for ages 6+.Hope this helps! 😁

Not Lego but still quite fun
This isn't your standard Lego set but it's still fun providing a lot of what those sets provide. PRos and Cons as I see them.Pros:- Easy build. My 6yo is just starting to be able to put sets together using instructions. He loves to build his own creations but following set instructions are relatively new to him. As such I only had to correct him a few times during this build.- Colors/Design. Colors pop and when you're done you get something very close to a HW Monster Truck. Pretty cool actually.- No stickers. Ok, this is pretty huge. Printed graphics also look great.- Comes with a Mega Blocks mini fig driver.- Very giftable. Perfect classmate party birthday gift.- Size. Close to HW Monster Truck sizing, just a bit bigger when built.Cons:- It's Mega Blocks so the fit tolerance while not poor aren't exactly as perfect as Lego. Tend to be a bit on the stiff side.- Have already had to "fix" one of the axle clips. Just doesn't seem as durable as Lego axles. There's a lot going for this set, relatively easy build, looks good when built with just a few nitpicks the biggest being the longevity of the axle wheel clips. Great gift for a kid that is into Lego and HW Monster Trucks.

Great Project/Toy for Kids
I got the Hot Wheels Mega Gunkster Monster Truck Building Set for my 4 1/2 year old son. He has completed a few of the other building sets and loves putting them together. This was no exception. As mentioned in the listing, there are 69 pieces in the set. My son was able to follow the instruction booklet on his own, but he did need help putting a few pieces together. It did not take him too long to finish building the car and he was able to focus the entire time.My one issue with the kit is that the pieces come separated in different plastic packages. I don't see why this is necessary as they could all be in one package.Besides the packaging issue, this is a great project/toy for kids. It would make a great small gift or stocking stuffer. I definitely recommend!
