Moonlight Pool Supply aftermarket Food Pad for Zodiac Barracuda G3 G4

I bought this foot pad based on the other reviews and the price. The Zodiac G3 foot pad was about $54 at the local pool store! This is a fraction of that. As other reviews mentioned, it is a little hard to wrap around the foot flange. I used a paint can opener which you can buy at the hardware store for about $1. Start with the flat side of the foot pad and then work your way around the other edges. Insert the paint can opener through the hole and push out ward on the rubber lip while pushing it over the foot flange with your other hand. WORKS GREAT!

This foot pad is very sturdy, durable, and fits my G4 baracuda nice and snug. The foot pad was as described in the product information on amazon. A good price and the foot pad was shipped quickly. When putting on the foot pad it has a very snug fit. I used another tool to help slip the foot pad over the plastic supports since it was a tight fit. The foot pad should fit tightly though so dont worry if you think it was the wrong size cause it is perfect. I highly recommended this foot pad if you have a G3 or G4. In the local pool stores it would be alot more.

Updated:Almost one year later (from date of purchase), the foot pad has lost its tread and I need another. It is a coin toss to go for another like this and use it for 11 months, or go OEM and hope to get double the use (for the extra price). TBD on what I will do, but I need to decide fast!Note - I live in the Phoenix, AZ area so my pool runs a lot!Original post:Works as advertised and is a good product. I replaced the foot pad and fin on my Zodiac Baracuda G3 pool cleaner since both pieces were old and worn. Suggest you have a second pair of hands nearby to help replace the foot pad as it is a tight fit. Only reason for 4 stars is the fin periodically detaches from the foot pad while circulating in the pool. I'm hoping this is a temporary issue and will soon cease to be a problem.

Part came quickly and was easy to install once I softened it for a few minutes in boiling water. The last replacement part I had ( NOT from this seller) wore out much quicker than the original (5 months vs. 14 months) ... The abrasion-resistance of the rubber compound used to mold the part makes a big difference in how long it lasts. No way to know with this one, but it seemed a bit softer than I remembered the original ... so it'll take a while to tell how long this one lasts.

I am so glad, I looked for replacement parts, at Amazon. Our local pool store was charging $60 something dollars for this part. I love saving over $40, and replacing it myself. It is true, as others have said, that it is easier to install the part, if you soak it in hot water for a few minutes, to soften the rubber. It is also easier with two people.

Good product. Not an OEM piece, but working just as good as original and the price is way better than OEM. I would purchase this again when this one wears out.Update 6/29/16: This piece is a very long lasting replacement part. It is still going strong in my pool almost 3 years later. I attribute this mostly to the fact that my pool is vinyl lined and smooth, but even on a standard pool I think this would last a good amount of time. I will be ordering another one when this one finally does wear out.

Our Baracuda is now about four years old and parts are slowly wearing out. This time it was the foot pad. It took a few minutes of struggling with it to figure out how to get this one on, but only a few minutes. In the end, it was relatively simple. It is intentionally a very tight fit, but I promise you that it does go on. The Baracuda is back in the pool and working again.
