This was awful! The pages ripped right out of the book upon getting it from Amazon. The book hag no spine and literally just detached the minute wee got it. My daughter was seriously disappointed.

I have several Mead Academie sketch books that I bought years ago...heavy, creamy pages only partially filled (because I really don't have any artistic talent whatsoever but I still like to draw once in a while). Somehow my granddaughter got into them and now there are no pages left! I had been meaning to pick up another one and just happened across this one and thought I would give it a try. I don't know if my original sketch books are still made but this one is definitely not even close in quality. The size is great and there are certainly plenty of pages, but the 70# paper is what I would call mid-weight and is somewhere between pale lemon & cream in color (no the pristine white I expected from the picture). The covers are plain cardboard with a 2nd wrap around layer in black (which is nice). The sketch pad is thread bound and there are 130 sheets (so 260 pages) and the covers are heavy-duty enough to support the weight of the pad without having it flop over. This would be very useful as a sketch pad or diary but the paper is probably not hefty enough for this to be used as a scrap book or for use with markers or paints...Although mine arrived neatly packaged in a plastic sleeve for protection, it had 5 or 6 very obvious pencil markings along the page edges--this made it look a bit scruffy and worn. I might expect to have these types of markings after carrying my book around in a backpack for a few months or so but is not what I wanted to see in a brand new item. Heck, I have 20 year old books that don't have these markings...It is okay, but at $16.99 it just seems rather expensive for what it is...I would say something along the order of $8.99 would be more reasonable.

This is a great size journal. I wasn't expecting it to be so big. The cover pages are kind of flimsy but for the price and size I am not complaining. The only thing I am sad about is it's not lined pages. That's an easy fix. Just got to break out the ruler and make some. The package came quickly as expected but it's still a nice thing to show up on time.

I love the size of this notebook, but when I received it, the cover was already bent. The cover should be made of sturdier material. It bends and folds easily.

Very nice sketch book. The pages feel thick and the book is well put together. My niece loves it!
