Marine Biology For The Non-Biologist (Marine Life) Paperback – February 20, 2017

I bought this book for my son (14) who is interested in becoming a Marine Biologist when he grows up. He was very interested in this book. It answered a lot of questions he had and kept his attention as well. Very happy with my purchase.

If you’re interested in marine biology I HIGHLY recommend this book. It’s an easy read and very informational.

my dad got me this book and it is a very good and interesting book but there are aren't many illustrations so if you don't learn well without pictures or anything like that then this book is probably not for you but still it explains stuff in a very engaging way and is written well so I recommend it thank you

My 12 year old is very interested in Marine Biology, so I was looking for the most uptodate, age appropriate book, to give him a realistic and factual idea of this science. It was a surprise Christmas gift and he LOVED it. So much so, he has already read it 4 times and it has still not been put on the book shelf! He explained to me how much he has learned from the book and how it has sparked his interest even more. So much so we made our first ever author contact, to let him know personally how much it had been enjoyed, and a few further questions, to which Mr. Caine graciously answered.

I knew nothing about marine biology and purchased this book hoping it help me out, as I now volunteer at an aquarium. I am so impressed! It’s written very well and easy to understand! I’m really enjoying it and learning a lot! I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn the basics of marine biology.

The title of the book is Biology for the NON-BIOLOGIST. In other words, someone who wants to understand marine biology with no Biology background. The problem with this book is it seems the author took snippets of biological text and put them in a small book. The writing is still academic level as he uses plenty of jargon and marine biology nomenclature. I would say the pro’s of this book is that he places main subjects in a organized well understood layout.. it’s great information for a biologist and probably a refresher for them but it’s definitely not for a non-biologist.. you’ll find yourself having to google a lot of information to truly be able to fully understand what he’s getting at. It’s a shame, he had something good here.

A very good and thorough coverage of this series of marine biology. I found it a very clear presentation and easy to understand. I really like this book and I highly recommend it.
