A fan but there’s a caveat…
This is a 6 month review. I am a big fan of this product. It’s exceedingly cost effective and blindingly simple to install. The quality is on point for the price, and I am buying more of it.When I first laid it down and filled the cells with gravel, one or two tamps made the cell lock up like a 4” concrete curb. I have had everything from a caterpillar to a well drilling rig drive on it like no big deal. I’m happy. That being said, there’s a few things you should know to be happy with it. First off, the little plastic clips that come with it are so useless to the point of being counter productive. Use them ONLY to hold the ends together while you bolt them together with galvanized 1/4” bolts with washers. The edges and seams are weak, so make sure you support them, especially anywhere that will take a load. The material will not hold up without it.I put road cloth down under it, which is keeping the gravel from sinking out. It can be placed over a surface that has not been leveled, but it’s much easier when you start with a flat level area. I started with 10” of mud in march, and had a layer of gravel dropped on top. A few runs of compaction, then the road cloth and finally the geocell. The neat part is that the cells work like a gold sluice. Once the cell is full the gravel glides over it to the next. I did a large portion of spreading the gravel with a rake and a hand tamper. So far it’s very water permeable and resilient. We’ll see how it works out with the snow this winter.

Very cool product
I used this on a weird sloped area next to my driveway. I’ve been trying to figure out how to do anything with it without the rocks just spilling over. I dug down pretty deep and laid this down and I was shocked at how well it worked, when done properly. Very strong! My boyfriend accidentally drove over it and it didn’t budge! Then I glued down my rocks and it is beautiful! I never thought I could get that spot done. It looks better than any of my neighbors landscaping. Very happy with this product! I’ve told all my family about it. My dad basically lives on a steep hill and has trouble with erosion. I told him about this and he got it, but hasn’t been able to do the job. He works full time in IT and is also a Beekeeper so he’s pretty busy. To be fair I JUST told him about it, I can’t wait to see it there since it is such a steep hill. Love this! Makes me wish I had other areas I could use it for but I don’t so, bummer.

Used this to build a mound in center of front yard.
This product is excellent for retaining small rock on a slope. I use it to retain soil & rock on the sides of a 6ft round, 3ft high mound planting bed.It turned out great and I hope the picture uploads...Because I was using it on a much smaller scale than product was intended for, I did not fully expand the sells and only needed 5 rows of cells, I had to do some cutting & patch in a section where there were no holes for the included connectors. To do the patching in and to set the shape of each cell in the grid, I used heavy duty landscape staples and set them at an angle where the cell walls cross, to patch in, I made sure there was an entire cell overlapping at each end and set the staples to catch a cell wall for each of the 5 rows of overlapping ends on each side of the patch-in.I highly recommend this product for any type of rock or terraced landscaping that you don't want shifting out of place.

Simple to install, Strong as hell, Good value
These ship as one item per box no matter how many you order. My application was for drainage in my well sloped yard to avoid erosion and to control weeds. I laid down a fabric, then the geo grid, and then added 1 1/8th inch crushed limestone. It is water permeable and locked into place and can hold a car on it. These geo grids are near impossible to find in stores and this particular geo grid is the least expensive I could find. Each item comes with a small bag of plastic connectors that snap pieces together; They look dainty but they are only to hold two or more pieces together until you fill them in with your stone material. You can cut this item with a sturdy pair of scissors and I used the same steel pins for this as I used for the fabric underlayment material. This is an excellent product for a residential yard application of preventing erosion.

Driveway Install
Absolutely LOVED this product for what we wanted to do. Our driveway was too narrow and we had a huge drainage issue on either side, so the area was just muddy all of the time. We extended the driveway about 10' on either side, installed this product, and then covered with 87 stone. We ended up stapling everything in place and it worked fantastic. I was very pleased with how flat the product shipped and how easy it was to install. We also installed a french drain below it to help with drainage and haven't had an issue in over a year. Just make sure you put a border around the edges to hold everything in place so the system can do its job properly. Solid product!

Garbage!
The cells are way to large! Almost 8" x 8"! This will never retain pea gravel. Also, it came doubled i half and will be very hard to straighten-out to become usable.
