Why does this company flat out lie on how many lumens? Scam

Because amazon refuses to regulate or investigate its sellers claims because they don't care about anything or anyone besides their profit margin, and investing manpower into investigating the rampant dubious or flat-out false advertising going on in just about every area of their market mostly by faceless chinese shell companies would detract from their already ludicrous profits. Typical case of faceless corporate greed on all fronts. What a world we live in.

Do you have to cycle through all the modes to turn it off?

No. You can just hold the power button in any mode and it will shut off.

What battery is used?

I used the battery that come with it , best flashlight I have ever had .

How does it turn on? End button or slide or button on side?

One-button design. Please note that the brightest flashlight is in high mode every time once turned on. You could turn off the high lumen flashlight after cycling through all the five modes or press and hold on the switch button for 5 seconds in any mode.
