X - DVD, BLURAY, Digital [Blu-ray]

I enjoyed this movie a lot. All of the characters were properly developed and didn't feel like one note characters of different franchises but when the slasher part of the movie started it quickly became one of my favorites.

Movie was good, but slow... still good

I love this movie- very 70s horror feeling even with all the nudity. hehe. over all it's a great film. I recommend it if you like slashers

The acting was pretty good and the story fairly well done. There were some obvious forewarning of things to come (i.e. it was obvious that the alligator was going to have someone for dinner). Some of the character's actions were contrived but otherwise they seemed like typical people. Most of the characters were actually likeable, which is unusual in horror films these days. The killer(s) motive(s) did catch me off guard I will admit, but I won't spoil it for others. Considering it was set in the 1970s when forensics was limited, I can understand the cops' bewilderment with the crime scene (naturally, they arrive long after the fact). Folks who have problems with nudity and sex in film will not like this flick but you are forewarned, the victims are making a porno flick. It kind of goes with the territory.

X is an amazing film on its own. However "Pearl" (my favorite) and MaXXXine are not only phenomenal films on their own. This is a wonderful first addition my least favorite but how Ti West and Mia Goth have tied this trilogy together makes a rewatch of X seem like a different film- full of foreshadowing and easter eggs that didn't exist until the other 2. I'd consider it one film with 3 chapters.

Whether you enjoy the twists and turns of a great thriller or the reinvention of classic horror; each category with reference to this movie is something to be desired. Furthermore, it has a historical reference into the making of the porn industry as well. A must see for history buffs that have an interest in this category and also a thrill ride for those who would like to see the twist and turns of a horror mystery thriller.

If you like Pearl, buy X.
