BEWARE: do not buy any edible from this seller: scam
I made the mistake of buying from an unknown “Discount Dscents Storefront/DLV Alimentacion SA” a Spanish turron. El Almendro Soft Almond Turron 7oz (200 G)First of all, the turron box came without the classic and imperative cellophane that always protects any turron box. It is a way to protect the food and ensure that is new. This was the first indication of something very wrong..Second, the box had 2 white tapes on top of both endings. One of them was unnecessary and was covering the most important part of any edible item: the expiration date: 02-2018. Covering on purpose the expiration date of any food is illegal. What’s more, anyone knows that Spanish turron is sold and is eaten by Christmas, that means that the turron I did receive was prepared for last year, and is old. Turron is very natural produce and rarely last that long.Third, the same white tape was covering the fact that the box had been glued by someone, not from the manufacturer.Forth, when I finally opened the manually glued box, the inside plastic didn’t have any label. That was the final clue. EL Almendro is one of the best and more expensive Spanish turron brands, and the label “El Almendro” is everywhere inside. The inside wrapper had no label at all. Nothing.Five, turron typically released oil because is almond pressed. This oil doesn’t have any color and is fluid inside and can be seen through the transparent wrapper. In this case the oil was yellowish and was thick, not fluid at all. Clearly old and probably rancid. This storefront bought EL Almendro turron last year, open the boxes, ate the good turron and used the empty boxes to stuff cheap/unknown turron (maybe even made in China), glued the box manually, taped it to cover the expiration date and is selling it as EL Almendro fresh turron when is pure and simple junk, something that can make anyone sick.Amazon, I am a Prime Customer, but this is the very last time that I purchase from one of your store fronts, especially, very especially anything edible. Shame on you for allowing this kinds of scams.
