I put off the repair of my log splitter for years because I didn't want to mess with the old carb. A friend said to try Amazon; maybe they had a carb that would work. Well, I was pleased to see a range of carburetors, but finding the exact one I needed wasn't easy. Pro tip: when you look for a carb, have the old one in your hand. There are many minor variations in similar carbs for different applications. Fortunately, I kept looking until I found the exact carb. I'm glad. The website said this carb would work with no adjustments. I doubted this. Imagine my surprise when I received my nice new little carburetor, and it did exactly as the ad stated- it fired up and ran with no problems! The installation took five minutes, and I immediately returned my log splitter to work. Did a full cord with no problems, and a week later did another half cord. These are good carbs! Great deal.

After many years, my original carb died. Having purchased one of these of these cheap off brand carb sets in the past ( for a stihl edger), I took another chance. After 30 minutes of no hassle installation (I did buy new hose and a valve (not sure why any small motor machine would come without one)), my lawn mower was up and running again. In fact, it runs a bit better now than it did when it was given to me years ago. I didn't have the same issue others have mentioned re. a tighter than normal fit of the screws that hold on the air filter assembly. I didn't see a need for the blue pre-filter, as my mower didn't have one and it wouldn't fit into the assembly itself. The quality is what you'd expect - for example, the provided tube that goes from the air filter assembly to the crank case isn't as solid a rubber tube as came on the mower - it's really thin-walled and required a bit of oil to slide on, lest it crumple instead of slide. It came with three filters, which was nice, since I didn't originally have one.All in all, it's certainly not the quality.of the original, but it works!!!!I'll return and update this post should the carb start failing prematurely. After all, the original lasted some 20 years.

The carburetor resolved the no start issue on the engine. Much simpler and quicker to replace the carburetor than to rebuild it. The cost of this aftermarket availability makes that financially sensible as well.The only issue with it was that I had to clean the threads up in one of the holes that the air cleaner housing bolts to. I matched the thread pitch from one of the screws and it was a #10-32. Once I ran the tap through with a little cutting fluid then cleaned off the debris, everything bolted up just fine.Also, please take note of all the details of your carburetor. I was replacing one on two different mowers. This one is for the mower with the primer button. The non-primer mower has a carburetor with two butterfly valves in it, and two corresponding black pivots on the top. I made the mistake of ordering two of these and having to return one for the correct one. Had to rebuild the carb on this lawnmower, and only SOME of these parts worked out of the box. I don't recall which parts were not correct, but not all of them fit. Fortunately the carb itself was all that I really needed, and it worked without a problem, but some of the accessories did not fit. Clearly a generic, not perfect OEM match. Make sure that after you purchase it, there are all the parts and sizes that you need, it might not be exactly what you're looking for. However it's less than HALF the price of the OEM part from the manufacture, so it is worth the risk.

Everything fit and worked perfect. The carb comes preset, and it ran great. The back plat was not used it was different, but the old one was fine. PERFECT, Thank You
