Performance
This was a replacement carb for a MERC TKS . 3.0L . All hardware in the box was included.Originaly I had my doubts about a non OEM replacement but thought I would give it a try. Engine started right up and idled great. Performed as expected.Would not hesitate to recommend this carb as a replacement for an OEM.Great value for the money.

You get what you pay for!
There were three serious manufacturing faults on this carb.1) The float levels had been set incorrectly at the factory. This caused the carb and hence the engine to flood. I reset float levels to correct spec.2) The cam lobe, on which the idle adjustment screw abuts had a rough surface. This caused the choke to stick closed and flood the engine. I lightly abraded the rough surface and refitted. It now runs smoothly.3) The electric choke coil moved very very slowly which caused the engine to run rich when warm. I exchanged the electric choke for the one on my old carb and it worked fine. All in all not good hence 3 stars. However now the faults are corrected the engine (Mercruiser 3liter 4 cyl) runs well.As with most things in life you get what you pay for. At £115 compared to the Dealer price of £450 it was worth the shot.Update: Whilst the engine ran OK it did seem to run very rich. So much that the engine tended to bogg down at over 2000rpm. The reason is they fitted 1.8mm jets rather than the 1.55mm jets specified for my Mercruiser 3 liter 4 cylinder engine. I drilled out a pair of the spare jets to 1.55mm and that's sorted things. Hope this helps. The photo of the plugs tells the story. That's after about 4 hours running.

Inexpensive and works
Installed on 1997 3.0LNeeded adjust fuel/air mixture and idle screw. Also needed to adjust choke so it would be 3/8” open. All part of installing any new carb and boat is starting, idling and running great. But for $100 and shows up in a few days made my week - by the weekend the boat is pulling kids around on the inter tube.I’m sure it’s crap quality but it works.
