Square Enix Metal Gear Solid 2: Play Arts Kai Solidus Snake Action Figure

This figure met all my expectations and more. Its a good size figure and beautifully sculpted. His armor is incredibly details down to the little text on it (very similar to Gray fox) The gray paint on his armor has very nice tone and works well with the orange paint on his under armor(where the joints are). The curved katanas are really cool, just be careful (dont yank 'em out of the package). His tentacles are very details, they do make him a little top heavy but with a little work u can get him to stand. His upper body join is a little loose but still holds well. His body sculpt is just fantastic (very cyborg like). arguably better than cyborg ninja figure. His ankle joints are very sturdy so they can support a heavier upper body. The instruction is pathetic but i dont mind. The face sculpt is very accurate (Hot toys quality). He looks just like big boss. The onl;y thing i dont like is the armor part around his neck keeps his head from turning all the way. I know some people break their swords when taking them out of the package but common...these are display figures, they take some finesse. \ I have to say he is my favorite metal gear figure (actually between him and gray fox). Play arts are getting better and better with each new product.

I love the details on this guy he is really well made. I got mine used or damaged here on amazon and it came in almost perfect! One of his legs is a little loose but I fixed that up myself and he is great. I can't stress how amazing he looks so well done. Be careful with the swords however as they are small and bendy. He comes with two of them along with two sub machine guns. He also has his tentacles from the game which go great. He is a little heavy so some poses will be hard to pull off but with a little care and practice you will get those poses you want. I totally recommend this figure even though his price tag is high. Try to snipe a deal if you can.

At first I was somewhat hesitant to purchase this figure, after reading reports stating that some of these come with loose joints, and that the swords he comes with are extremely fragile. After receiving the figure I am very happy to report that this wasn't the case for me, and in fact, my Solidus figure has been nothing but fantastic! The joints are all nice and tight and I've had no problems with the swords snapping (my figure has even fallen forward with the swords in hand basically landing on top of them, and they didn't break). The detail is amazing and the amount of poses you can get isn't bad either. Overall great figure, currently have him standing beside my Solid Snake play arts figure, waiting on a Liquid Snake to complete the set.

Best made MGS PAK figure to date. I have Solid, Liquid, PW Big Boss, GZ Big Boss, Revengance White armor Raiden and this is by far the most consistently well built figure. He is a beast. The only downside is that this was before PAK included stands with the figure which he desperately needs for display. Very detailed and great head sculpt. If you want to complete your collection but this before it sells out. It is being sold frequently at double the rate of $89 so act fast.

I bought one of these guys the other day. He was a lot bigger than I expected. It's a really cool figure. Some of the armor plating gets in the way of his poseability, but it's generally pretty flexible. The tentacles are nice and full of joints and the detail on the thing is more than enough. He comes with 3 sets of hands, two swords, and two P-85 guns. It's a pretty hefty figure. I did not expect it to be as heavy as it was.Now to the negatives. One of the swords broke on me randomly. I don't even know how I broke it. I looked down and it was just in 2 pieces somehow. Had to hot glue it back to the base. The swords are very cheap and flimsy. His left side tentacle was also pretty loose. I couldn't get it to stay in the air because of this. I had to pop the tentacle off this joint and put rubber band pieces in the socket to give the friction I needed to keep it posed properly. Randomly one of the knee cap plates also fell off while I was positioning him and I had to glue that back on too.the "instruction" manual for this thing sucks. It tells you not to pull on things hard, and then half the joints you have to tug at pretty hard anyway. So you really are taking a shot in the dark when you try to bend stuff because you don't know if what you're bending is supposed to move. For instance, I don't know how much the head is supposed to move, so I can't tell if I'm tearing apart the plastic or not when I move it. The manual gives no real instructions. The chest piece is tough to take off, so I was scared the whole time that I would break it.While overall I still like the figure, the issues above really soured the experience for me. For a toy that's over $100, I expect the damn thing not to be so ridiculously fragile. It's still a very nice figure and a must have for any Metal Gear fan, but given its issues I can only give it 3 stars.

100 dollars for one of the most poorly constructed pieces of plastic I've ever owned. Within 3 minutes of removing it from the box, its right arm came off. 30 minutes later, the hilt of one of its swords broke off just on its own. 3 days later, itsleft leg came off. It is incredibly disappointing because the figure actually looks quite lovely , but I can't believe Square Enix would have the temerity to produce and sell such a shoddy product. I love Metal Gear Solid, but I love it a little less now. DO NOT BUY.

The figure itself look good, but the build quality is bad. The box couldn't handle the shipping it came openedthe legs cant handle shaking, mine fell 4 feet off the ground and the leg and the arm came off.the figure is not worth the price.

Very top heavy figure, it weighs a little over a pound with tentacles installed, a stand should be required.The katanas and its sheaths are very fragile, especially with the combined weight of the figure. The P90 submachine guns, accessories and the figure overall, are very well sculpted and painted. Although I noticed some minor smudges, I can't complain, because everything else about this figure looks so cool.

The best character of the franchise. I would buy a dozen more Solidus figures if he had more outfits. The quality of this figure is quite good.
