One of Those Days

It's been a great jumping off point
I am a fan of the authors other books. This one surprised me in that it started a dialogue with my ( 5 yr old) daughter after reading it. I soon realized that she would suggest it as a bedtime book if there was something she wanted to talk about but perhaps didn't know how to breech the topic. I know I've had every one of those "One of Those Days" and its sweetly illustrated with a sense of humor. I'm giving it 5 stars because This book has helped my daughter open up with me and helped me realize sometimes there's Lots of Those Days when being 40 is just like being 5.

Good Story Line
This is really a good little book. It shows children that they are not alone in their feelings and frustrations. The only criticism I have is that one of the days was a bad sibling day and I don't know how many toddlers know what a sibling is. I guess it's an opportunity to learn a new word. Also, the story is told by a girl. It would have been nice if it included some days with boys having a bad day.

Do you have bad, really bad days?
My granddaughter does! She has bad hair days, no matching socks days, no privacy at home. I saw this book and fell in love! I got to read it with her, babysitting. She has the rest of the world figured out. 8 years old, 'Nanny, I just can't tell what all these teenageres are about. They do the stupidest things!! I'm going to be a Pediatrician, make a lot of money to buy a big house, a nice car and a dog. I will have a wonderful husband and 2 children.' She has it all figured out. At least once she gets over, One of Those days!

Bought 2.5 years ago, and my kids still read it
We love this book. I bought it two and half years ago, and it's now in our living room bookshelf of "special" read over and over again books for my 3 kids. It helped my kids express themselves when they're having a tough day, which opens up the conversation. Now they just tell me "I'm having one of those days" and I ask them what kind using the examples from the book. Hope to pass it to the grandkids in 20-30 years.

Its a great book, but I would have gotten a different ...
Didn't expect the book to be so small. It is a little bigger then the size of my hand. I got a hardcover for durability because that is important to me as a classroom teacher, but the book isn't big enough for my kids to see when they are at their desks. Its a great book, but I would have gotten a different version if I would have known the size before it came.

loved this book
I have a preschool and have children ages 3 to 5 and after school children ages 5 to 7 and they love to this book. I asked them have you ever had a day like this and it was fun to hear the responses... And the ending really shows them that there's always tomorrow!

Great book that helps 7 year olds "put it all in perspective"
We've all had "days like that" and this book describes the feeling with pictures and minimal words, and kids end up laughing about things that happen in the book and similar experiences they've had in life. Great and funny and sweet way to help all of us remember that tomorrow is another day. My daughter loved this book.
