Packable Extra Large Brim Floppy Sun Hat Reversible UPF 50+ Beach Sun Bucket Hat

For someone that has to cover up, this hat does the job.

The material is great. There are two pieces. The large piece buttons on easily and firmly. The large pieces will be perfect for the beach or pool. The actual hat is perfect for every day outdoors activity. There is an attachable draw string which adjusts nicely.

It's nice when you find a gem of a deal like this one on Amazon that ends up exceeding expectations. I wanted to find a portable sunhat that I could roll up, tuck in my bag, shove in the beach bag, maybe forget about it in the minivan for a few months and bust it out on those as needed moments. I'm not a hat person except when I need to be and when I need to be... I go EXTRA.Extra, this hat is. It's amazing.Honestly, the material is of higher quality than I expected for the price point. It's durable. The stitch work is solid. I, apparently, missed the part in the descriptions and pictures where it was stated that this is a hat inside another hat. It's, as a friend of mine said, hatception!! Brilliant. It can be an adorable bucket hat or a fancy giant (hide your babies sized) sun hat. The buttons, as you may see in my pictures, can withstand some abuse and are sewn on solid. The brims on the inner and outer hats are wired so these hats can become anything you can imagine. I like the bendy parts of the brims so if I get bored I basically have a toy and a hat all in one. Bonus.Taco hat? Salad bowl? Flower? The possibilities are endless, truly.I may have become a hat person because of this hat.

Here are the things I noticed after opening the package.1. There's a smell coming from the fabric. Smells like a Chinese made product straight from the factory. I did know prior to buying that it was made in China but thought I'd still give it a chance.2. Fabric/material quality wasn't what I expected. I expected it to be thicker but it was thin.3. The quality of the sewing workmanship was less than mediocre. You can see threads hanging out and where one stitch jumped to the other. Makes me feel like this hat won't last4. No label on how to clean the hat. How do I clean this hat? It has a smell I want to get rid of before putting it on my head.5. Chin strap is cheaply made and thin. Hook on the chin strap that connects to the hat was not easy to attach. Took some trying.6. The wire on the brim of the hat was a good for shaping the hat. There is a wire on the bucket hat itself and a wire on the wider brim attachment.7. Hat does look like the pictures advertised and does look cute.I have not worn it yet as I don't like the smell and not comfortable putting that on my head. Originally, I planned on using this hat everytime I need to be out in the sun for 20 minutes or longer but now I'm not sure because of the smell and I don't know how to clean it. I live in Florida where the sun is out most of the year.Update:So after trying it out here's what I think.1. It is pretty2. Hat fits but doesn't fit snug so it moves around when I'm wearing it. Just annoying to have to constantly adjust it even when I am using the chin strap to hold it in place (still moves around too much for my liking).3. Decided to return it for the reason mentioned above.

I purchased this hat before a trip to a water park for protection against the sun. The extra wide brim was large enough to shade not just my face, but my shoulders also. (I didn’t get sunburned, but I also wore sunscreen!)Because there’s a wire through the edge of the brim I was also able to shape the brim to suit my needs: I could bend the sides down toward my shoulders, or bend the front upward when I needed to be able to see better where I was going. The chin strap also meant I was able to keep the at on during water rides/slides without worrying about it flying off of my head and getting lost.I’ve had problems in the past with large brimmed hats completely losing their shape if you try to pack them, but I was able to fold the hat into quarters to fit inside a shoulder bag, and just by bending the wired brim back into shape, the hat was good as new.Halfway through the day I did manage to break the chin strap away from the clip that hooks it to the hat, but that was just me being rough with it. I was able to tie a knot to put it back together, and just a few stitches would fix it back good as new.Overall an excellent buy, and I also received compliments on the hat as I wore it.

Ordered a second one for when my current one needs replaced. Have worn current one for 6-9 months daily in my garden- I wash it in a delicates bag in with whatever else in my washing machine every 2 weeks or so, has held up perfectly but still want a backup in case they stop making these whenever I need another…My second one, however, came without the chin strap… need to reach out to manufacturer to request one… but that’s okay. Great hat to keep the sun off my face while gardening in S FL- many compliments. Last was “that looks very Martha’s Vineyard”. And another neighbor had me send them the link and she ordered my beige one and one in red that is super cute on her, too!

This had is very sturdy and appears to cover a good amount of my head area. It is a bit big for my head but I will keep it and may separate it and use the inside more often. Love the colorful inside and do like the way it separated. I do think it will keep me covered on a float out in the water, which is what I wanted it for.
