Tad coarse but still exquisite
Easily the best pork pate I've ever had. I prefer this over the related Henaff varieties with liver (which, honestly, were very good too). A slightly smoky, buttery, slow-cooked, not overly salty, spreadable delight with subtle herbs. There's a minor fat separation (but not tons of gelatin as found in cheap canned meats) but that's to be expected for the real deal. Bit pricey, yes, but it's densely packed, rich and filling, and dynamite on your fave crunchy cracker. It's real quality. I took a can on a cabin trip and it made for a real delicacy. I plan on ordering it again!

Amazing Taste - Same quality proven recipe as 30 years ago
I finally found a decent price for this pate and ordered enough to get free shipping (I also got the Rillette from the same trusted Henaff brand). The moment I opened one can, the smell, the taste brought me 30 years back, in France, when I last had Pate Henaff. I can attest, as someone who's eaten enough of these in my youth, that the recipe and quality have not changed (since 1907 as claimed on the box). Even the box is about the same (except they used to have a reclosable lid rather than the "pull-out" cover). It's a bit pricy imported to the US but it's a French delicacy. Almost as cliche as a baguette and a beret.About Pate Henaff - The pate itself is delicious but it's the combination with the thin layer of gelatine and thin layer of fat on a slice of bread that makes the taste unforgetable. I rarely write reviews, let alone of food, but hey this is Pate Henaff. Enough said.

Finally --- a delicious French Pate!
This pate gives you all the quality and aromatic taste that you would experience in France and in Europe! And if you grew up with this kind of quality, it brings back all the nostalgia of the good old days-- when charcutiers and artisans made their products with care, real knowledge and integrity!

just meh
as a kid growing in Brazil I used to eat a lot of pork and ham pate. This being a french product I thought I would have the same thing but up a notch. I was wrong. This does taste good but tastes pretty much as spam spread. I guess I had too high of expectations.

Not pate
I am french. Have eaten pate my whole life. Pate should spread easily at room temperature. This does not spread and is more like spam or some awful tasting chopped meat in a can complete with pork jelly surrounding it. Would not ever purchase again.

There is a reason the French love this pate
This is an everyday pate, and it is delicious. I have read reviews complaining that it is not like the pate people have had in expensive restaurants, but anyone buying a can of pate is buying a can of pate. This is very good stuff. I like it smeared on some good, crusty bread.
