I fitted this just fine on my 2018 Tiguan

I'd say spend the extra money for name brand one. Buttons are giving out and not worth it. Can't speak for thermal properties as I don't have a thermal reader.

I have a mk8 gti so this was not a "direct" fit, however a very similar fit. I wrestled with it for an hour to finally get it around the exhaust manifold and between the waste gate, but as soon as I managed that it pulled a snap from out of the woven material. So I ended up using the metal wire that was supplied and looped it through the material itself in order to secure it. A not so elegant solution, but a useable one. They updated the heat shield for the turbo's on the mk8's so it required me to bend it back where the o2 sensor clip is a bit so it could still maintain an air gap between the heat shield and the blanket. Besides it looking like doo-doo because I had to tie it together, it did improve turbo response/spool time. I did notice that my oil temps sit a few degrees higher but I'm assuming that's because of the extra heat being held by the manifold being transferred to the oil. Either way for as cheap as this thing is it's worth it I think.

This fit great. Just as well as the name brand ones and it seems pretty durable

Buttons ripped off when I tried to unclip them, do not recommend just spend the money and get a better quality one.
