We "hatched" these in a large "ball" jar. FYI, they're a bit too large to get out once fully expanded. Had no issues with mold or other issues, but I changed the water daily. There is a bit of "goo" in the water when they hatch that did seem to make my sink drain a bit slowly after we did a few of these. There is NO variation between eggs - same toy in all dinos and same unicorns, so its really not worth buying more than one of each. But, they were a neat experiment for the toddlers. They shrink once they dry, and the kids lose all interest at that point, but the hatching part was fun for them.
