Choose weight material and net size based on your application.
This is a nice net especially for the price. It has a very comfortable neoprene wrist cuff which is a great upgrade from nets I’ve had in the past. Got here quick & casts easy.

Functional
For a 4ft net that is under $30, really cannot complain. Gets the job done and it offers 1/4" mesh. Note that the weights are not SS or Lead. The weights WILL rust if you do now allow the net to completely dry before packing it away. Even then it will still probably rust as it is just zinc coated iron. Like with any cast net, avoid obstructions such as rocks and sticks, and it will probably last you it's money worth or more.

Awesome cast net!!!
We got it for our grandson for his birthday and he loved it! Very well made!

heavier net but so worth it. Way less work in the end.
The net is very heavy, though with 1/4" mesh I expected that. The 1/4" mesh is the game changer compared to my last several nets with 3/8" and 1/2" mesh. It makes cleaning the bait out of the net soooooo much easier. I have used it twice now and both times I was amazed with how difficult it is to throw, but how easy it was to empty the bait made this net more than worth it. The webbing and lead lines are also much thicker than my previous nets.

Hit or Miss
I bought a 4ft and 5ft for around $20 each. One had a decent spread and was very light so I could cast these for days. But they don't sink to the bottom that fast so I did see a difference in the amount of bait I catch compared to heavier cast nets.I had one that was very poorly designed. Every time I casted and hauled the net in, the sinkers would come through the eye, leaving an opening 1/3 size of the diameter. Possible uneven weight distribution?I'll still buy these but only if they are cheaper than other competitively priced brands.

VERY POOR WORKMANSHIP!
I Have been using cast nets for years but never 1/4". Bought this 2 years ago before a coast trip and it would not open round.I put it on the shelf until yesterday and used it from the bow of my boat. It throws oval! Why? All of the brail lines are different lengths from 30" to 69" and are tied at varying intervals from 18 3/4" to 26". I tried to find a way to contact manufacturer (BasicGear) but they do not post a contact. VERY POOR WORKMANSHIP!
