So if you’re really waiting on this bottle of wine until AFTER the game is finished, you probably aren’t a wine drinker . I mean who would not be drinking wine while playing the game? It was fun, it was a bit long but we were tired so probably would have done better if started before drinking wine. :). The font of the cards is tiny- I had to get my reading glasses out and use my phone flashlight to read the cards. I’m sure consuming wine during the game had nothing to do with it. Anyway- it was fun, the lock sucked- eventually got the bottle locked in the cage but took multiple people and another day to get the wine out of the cage. Luckily, we had extra bottles- like who wouldn’t? I bought the other game we had so much fun and took the crappy lock in stride. The lock was actually a joke for us- advice- bring wire cutters just in case.

I got this after enjoying the other verdion. This was just as fun!

I purchased this (through a different website) as a Christmas gift for my husband. Everything came packaged well, and the lock came with the code on a sticker. I did make sure the code worked in the lock before I added a bottle of wine. The worksheet is intended to be copied and reused, which is nice, except the worksheet and many of the cards had some pretty tiny font. Could be a hilarious gift for “over the hill” birthday. 😂 But honestly, I don’t know why they didn’t use a little larger font.My husband did really well on his own, but got stuck on some questions that feel seem British in nature. We were both caught off guard with those. We are not familiar with Snooker or corned beef in a can (ha!), but luckily I did know that the American musical term for semi-tone is half step. There are probably other things we had to cheat on, just can’t remember at the moment. So you might have better luck with a group of people, or at least someone that has more experience with English culture. Otherwise, a really fun gift!

I gave this as a gift with a bottle of wine inside. The recipient had a good time solving the clues to get the lock combination. Then we enjoyed the wine. Fun time!

The attached picture is the lock in its “locked“ position. however, you can lock and unlock it with any code, so it actually doesn’t even matter if you solve the puzzle because you can never lock the wine up and you can enter any code to “unlock” the wine. Basically, a cheap gift that they did not take the time to provide even the most basic component of the item. This was intended to be a gift for someone that loves escape rooms and ended up being such a disappointment. It will be returned immediately. Amazon should stop selling this product.

I was really excited to get this and give it as a gift. When I was prepping this, at first I spent 30 mins trying to get the lock to lock. Once I did, it will not open. I have used the correct code and reached out to the company as well. I'm trying to decide if I want to send it back or purchase a lock to use. Either way this needs a better lock. This would make one heck of a gift if not for the lock not working correctly.

I gave this to my boss for a Christmas gift, and they loved it. It is more complicated than I thought, so I would recommend this for sunshine who loves games and puzzles. It does include the solution, just in case.

This is a remarkably clever idea and fun gift. We elected to put a fancy bottle of wine in the cage for a grown-up recipient, but you could just as easily put a tin of hot chocolate or bottle of bath foam in for a teenage puzzle enthusiast (as long at they are no longer or wider than a bottle of wine). The kit comes with a set of "clues" you need to crack in order to decipher the pre-defined code for the padlock, so there isn't really the option to set your own code (unless you wanted to create your own puzzles and supply your own padlock). The padlock itself comes with a label on with the unlock combination stuck over the dials which you will need to remove before giving to your intended recipient. (We took a photo of the code to avoid any tantrums and disasters).The only fly in the ointment is the price of the product. At just over £23 at time of purchases, you've got to be certain that your intended recipient will love it (or you'll get your moneys worth if this is intended to be a torturous gift). Add a premium bottle of wine to the mix, and that's a very expensive present to fall flat!

I ordered both to give for Christmas I would say the packaging and padlock was so much better on the Lochkeye one. The padlock in sugarskull Hollow took a lot of fidling in the end I yanked hard and managed to get it open and working. Don’t forget once you have put your bottle in and locked it up to keep the card game out lol

Great game for adults and you can decide which bottle to put in the cage - good fun!
