Good!
Great book that is easy to read, however it did seem to take to long to get to the main focus of each chapter. For instance, I understand building anticipation for the next chapter. It at times seem to drag. Easy read due to the flow of words, but 4 stars due to the nature of making the book feel like it was dragging along... Definitely on to the next! I am enjoying the series and overall all the books. Great for ages 16 and older in my opinion. Some of the imagery can seem a little too bleak and dark. I wish it had a little more of the happy moments. I guess that it just the romantic side of me. Glad it kept a lot of the main characters. I get attached. lol! Good book over all!

must read
Not a stand alone book, part of a series and should be read in sequential order...worth the read! I just could not put it down. Some days i read for 8 hours straight. What a great fantasy ride. So much is happening in these books but the author writes it so it is easy to follow, like several little stories happening in one book. The characters I found to visualize, like and or dislike quickly. Descriptions were intense and in depth enough to make me feel as I were there in the story as a character myself. If you like action, romance, fantasy, magic, castles, knights, battles of good and evil and valor then you will love this series. There is gruesome killing but the author does not go into a deep description and make it gory. There is great love and romance but nothing even pg rated. Lots of fantasy but not to extravagant. It amazes me how creative this author is and I constantly wondered "what in the world will happen next?".To me a perfect story, a perfect read, and i think it would make a great movie! Reminded me a bit of the "Lord of the Rings. I would highly recommend this series and this author to anyone that even considers these mixed genres.

Editing is horrible!!!
Not sure how much more I can take. I truly enjoyed the first few books. Now, it's become so rushed and the plot so contrived that it's virtually unbearable to read. There's nothing wrong with ending a story when a story ends. There's everything wrong with dragging a story out either for monetary reasons or lack of a better idea. This one should have ended already. I don't care about Erec going off on his quest to get married and be king. In fact, I hope he dies just so I don't have to read the sappy romance between him and Alistair any more. There are way to many characters as it is. I've lost interest in most of them. The battle scenes are pretty much laughable at this point. One minute a character is fighting 100 vs 1 no problem and then it's 4 vs 9 and they are worried? 100 feet of rope fired by an arrow accurately and then 4 adults pull themselves through the water without the arrow breaking? Soldiers on shore jumping 30 yards to boats and just climbing aboard? The Empire burning everything in their wake as they march across the Ring. Eating what? A million soldiers need a lot of food. One day they are in Kings Court and the next they are on boats sailing across the sea to the islands. In "dozens" of boats? Thousands of people in dozens of boats? How big are these boats? There's just so much wrong and so little right anymore I'm not sure I can continue to read the series.

Nice Sequel
In this episode Morgan continues this superb story. Thor is away in a quest to find his mother in a magical land, the Land of the Druids, fighting with enemies he never thought would exist. Reece is trying to survive in the Upper Isles after his revenge against Thirus for killing Selese and he is reunited with Stara and the remaining of the loyal members to the Ring. Gwendolyn is trying to rescue her people, leading them to the Upper Isles, even against there will, as Romulus is invading and destroying the Ring with his dragons. Erec is with Alistair in the South Islands, to claim his throne upon his father death, but nothing is easy over there. He has to fight his way to the throne. Packed with action, this book will keep you entertained for hours. And there is not an idle moment until you turn the last page! Get ready for another very entertaining episode of this incredible saga. You will not get tired of following Thor, Gwendolyn and all our heroes in this new episode. Just be aware that in order to savor every moment of this episode, I recommend that you start reading from the first episode to better understand the dynamics among the characters, as well as have a full idea on the environment of the story.

I love the way Morgan expresses her mind
I love the way Morgan expresses her mind. The story is very interesting to me and keeps my attention. I still don't understand why she doesn't hire an editor to correct the dozens of grammatical errors in each of her books. It is like looking at a woman in a beautiful well designed gown made out of exquisite material, then as she gets closer you see that the stitches are crooked and knotted. Beautiful but shoddy. She deserved better attention to her work.don

One of the best series of Books!
I never heard of Morgan Rice before I bought my Kindle Fire. I went looking for books to read. What can I say about Morgan Rice and the Sorcerer's Ring Series, the woman had a gift for words. I rank Morgan Rice and the Sorcerer's Ring Series up with David Eddings, James A. Owen, Rick Riordan, C. S. Lewis, Robert Jordan, J.R.R. Tolkien, Brenda W. Clough too name a few of my favorite authors Bravo to you all. I started with series with book 1 A QUEST OF HEROES. I have bought all 12 books, in the series so far. This series more than just a good read, you fall into the pages and feel as though you are part of the series. It is the quality I look for in a good series.

Another solid continuation.
This far in, you either like the series or you don't. Personally I think it's decent. I've read all the earlier books and kept on going.A reign of steel keeps up with the main plot while introducing other elements such as setting erec and his how wife to be off on their own separate quests.Overall it's well paced and things move quickly (one of the things I really like about this series). Lots of action, some suspense and the story goes on. I'll be fair and say, that the series does get very predictable at times, but it is done quite well. I enjoy it. I will try finish off all of the books in the series. They are quite short generally between 220 to 300 pages at most.

As good as the 10 before it
This book is great. I don't know how or why I am hooked on them. Started reading the first one in the summer and within 3weeks I had finished them all. The story always has some kind of twist to it. When you think the story is going to end, something else happens. For instance you think Luanda is pregnant, great then her husband is dead. Great twist and that is the reason she leaves the ring and kings court is attacked by dragons. The story has an adventure side, a romance side and even a good old family argument.Pros.The characters all have different personalitys and do something unexpectedThe story changes in one sentencePeople are hellbent on revengeRomance that fails because of old enemy'sThe triumph of good over evilCons.Selese's deathThe wedding never happenedReece still loves Stara who I find annoyingThat andronicus died cos now Thor has no father to hateGodfrey realising what it is to be a warrior, I liked it better when he was a drunkThe worst of these is definitely selese's deathThat was unnecessary but necessary to the plotThink Thor should of stayed in the ring for a bit longer and then used his magical druid powers to save Gwen at the last moment.Overall this is a great book that I would recommend to anyone, especially merlin fans when it was on.Hurry for the next one!!

Keeps you reading!
Brilliant epic tale with all the right ingredients for a best selling series. However, I would have thought that an experienced writer like Rice would know the difference between incinerated and eviscerated. Also the use of too many repeated cliches was rather tiresome as were the number of typos. Nevertheless, Rice is a great story teller and I am a devoted fan. Please hurry up with book 12 !(PS Get yourself a better proof reader!)

Repetitive and poorly edited.
Not really sure why I continued with this saga after the last couple of disappointments, however Morgan Rice is obviously attempting to drag out Gwendoline and Thor's unfortunate episodes as far as possible. Yet again, the shield fails, a new empire threat, a betrayal from within the royal family and Erecs story continues in a parallel. To add to the litany of misgivings, it was terribly edited with numerous typos, misspellings, and poor grammar. Overall, this could have been wrapped up nicely as a trilogy, and I would advise for those readers who are embarking on this journey to not invest much time after the 'first' empire invasion is concluded!

Reign of steel
This book, the eleventh in the series was just as gripping as the ten before it. Morgan weaves a fantasy story which binds you in a spell from which you cannot escape until the final page. Even then he leaves his reader wanting more. Roll on number twelve.. soon please Morgan, burn the midnight oil to get all our heroes and heroines back to peaceful times with all evil vanquished. Great read.
