Great addition to Borla muffler
I own an Acura ILX and did a resonator delete along with a new Borla muffler...sounded great but there was a loud drone with highway speeds. Having twin babies, this wasn't too favorable for them. 2yrs pass and the welds fail due to rust. I end up getting this resonator to tone down the drone I had previously. Now with a Borla muffler and this resonator, the rumble is still there but the drone is gone. When I remote start my car from inside, I used to be able to hear the exhaust and I'm sure my neighbors did too. It's a lot more tame during cold starts and idle, but still a nice deep sound on throttle. Well worth the purchase and I'm happy with the outcome.

good quality resonator
This will be loud if used alone. It has an aggressive tone and I used it as a resonator with a single chamber muffler behind it. Running through a 486 big block , it has a growl and easy to weld.

If you like it loud
Excellent sounding muffler if you like something a little loud…aka loud AF but perfect for the 17 year old boy in all of us. This went on F150 5.0L and sounds better than a Corvette.

Works great, but not perfect
Prior to installing this muffler/resonator, my car had custom exhaust with one straight-through muffler. Sounded amazing - not raspy/ricey at all - and the 4-cylinder with relatively small displacement punched way above it's weight class. That said, it was a bit loud (wore earplugs) and had drone around 3K RPM (which I got used to). After approximately a year I decided to make the car more neighborhood friendly and went with this muffler/resonator.For the price, this is a great product with unique style and design. That said, the spiral internal baffle is not as pronounced as shown in the product photo. Also, the construction is not quite as solid as I'd prefer, though it makes the muffler/resonator lighter. Another nice feature is that this is stainless-steel-wool-packed, not glass-packed; so it'll last a lot longer. It removed the drone across the entire RPM band, particularly at 3K. Now drone free, which is nice; but it also removed a lot of the unique exhaust notes that weren't responsible for the drone, resulting in a sporty yet tame muffled sound - which is why I call this a muffler/resonator, because it decreased the decibels and altered the exhaust frequencies quite drastically. Basically, the car went from sounding like an exotic V8 to a sporty V8; still very impressive for a 4-cylinder. I didn't like that the exhaust notes were diminished, but it's acceptable and makes the car more neighborhood friendly. Even with the two mufflers/resonators - both are straight-through - plumbed in series, there appeared to be no change in performance. The car is now quiet enough that it's comfortable to drive without earplugs.

Built really well, great value
Reading other reviews I was kind of worried about ordering these. For a glasspack with a "fancy" design, for this low of a price I was pretty skeptical, even before reading the reviews and seeing multiple people express concerns over the weld quality, and at least one person saying the item they received did not even have the correct internal packing. Well, I received both of mine today, and they are as advertised, and I see no issues with the welds, inside or out. I attached a photo of the first one I took out of the packaging. The internal baffle is as advertised, and the welds all look perfect and nothing is loose or rattling around. It does look more restrictive than the product page's images, but it shouldnt be an issue in my application, since my car comes factory with 2.25 inch exhaust which I upgraded to 2.5 inch, so a slightly-restrictive 2.5 inch muffler will still be an improvement over a highly restrictive 2.25 inch muffler. I plan to install these this weekend in place of my SLP Loudmouth mufflers, so I can update my review with before and after videos showing how it sounds and the volume level. The SLPs were fine till I replaced the factory cats with high-flow Magnaflows, so I need something slightly tamer, and I think these will fit the bill perfectly without decreasing output by too much, since I only want it a LITTLE tamer.

Very raspy the packing material is lightly packed.
It looks cool welds nice but took it off and cut it in half to see the packing material after hearing the rasp from it a very metallic sound and I was disappointed about the little amount of packing material. Do your self a favor cut the seams pull the guts and repack sounds much better if you do so. For the price id say it isn't a good buy unless you want rasp.
