It is a rope
I mean, I don’t know how to write a review for this type of rope. If you buy rope, know rope, and have used this type of rope before, you should know what it is. It is exactly what you think it is. :-)A++ would buy this rope again to suit my needs.

Great for vineyard training
We own a small vineyard and winery and have thus far used plastic tie-tape for training our 350 grapevines. This year we decided to switch to jute string because we're trying to avoid plastic (plus, plastic tape can shrink and become hard to work with during the cold winter pruning season). This is great for our needs. The string certainly seems strong enough to support vines for at least 1 season until they send out tendrils and support themselves. Love the design of the string in a can with a built-in cutter... except when it breaks. On one of our cans, the cutter (which is basically a little razor blade wedged in between some plastic) came loose and I can't get it re-seated the way it was. So I have to use a pocket knife or pruning shears to make the cut. It would be nice if the cutter was mounted a bit more sturdily, but for a few bucks, what do you expect? Overall, highly recommended for vineyard work.

Cat scratching post
This works great to redo and freshen up our cat scratching post on our cat tree. It takes a long while for us to have to redo it again. Maybe 2-3 times a year because it's so durable.

Works great and durable
Used this to fix the rope on my cat’s tree house and it works great. It works the sameas rope for cats but cheaper.

Perfect!
I totally replaced my cat's scratching post material that was shredded, and this stuff i think is way stronger than what had been on their because it's been almost a month since replaced it and it still looks brand new!!

Can't find the beginning?????
Rolled this in my hands for several minutes attempting to find the "beginning/ending " of the roll...... gave up and just cut a random line. Still a great value! I'll buy again-- if I ever use all of this up!

Does have a smell but better than sisal rope
Was worried that trying a different type of rope either my cats wouldn't like it or it wouldn't be worth the money but it 100% is. $20 for over 300 ft and the rope is thick? Yes ma'am! But it does have that chemical smell. After a while the smell goes away but I'm sure you could try to wash out.

kerosene Smell, intended to use for bird toys, and some info about mass produced jute/hemp ropes
Short Version; Its all natural; except the manufacturing process to make the rope sturdier with JBO. I found you can test oil in rope just by boiling in water and seeing if an oily layer forms ontop of the pot. (I didn't try this since I am returning) For birds or other pet safety try purchasing from a bird toy specialty shop online, all rope in high mass production is most likely going to have mineral oil ontop for conditioning.I did get one with a strong kerosene smell and tried my best to see if the oil rubs off, which it doesnt seem to, but the smell stuck with my hands. I wasn't going to be worried till I looked into how they process these ropes. Simple search says its the jute batching oil isn't non toxic to humans, but there has been (1) study i saw it created benign tumors on mice. Not sure how accurate it is, if it was peer reviewed, i just recommend others look at some pages before using it on their pets. Birds I wouldn't risk it with how delicate they are with bacteria and air quality. With cats or other larger pets I would be less worried about it, since it provides no toxicity to big mammals like humans. If you need all natural, you can do a few boils of water to remove the oils, or purchase from a bird toy specialty store/ smaller manufacture.other then that; its rope, it works as craft rope. But not 100% natural. Despite the oil conditioning it does fray a whole lot only after a few hand passes. So im not even going to use this for crafts.
