My orders were eagerly awaited only to be very disappointed
I was so looking forward to receiving these gluten free licorice cats. They arrived and I saved them until evening to open as a bedtime treat. The excitement built all day. And then~~~disappointment hit. On the good side, the flavor is good. On the bad side the cats are dried out and curling. Now I don’t mind a bit dry but these require softening in your mouth before you can even bite into them.Note: I may have just gotten the oldest bags on the shelf and others may get fresh bags 😢NOW I have found out these are not gluten free as advertised. Grrrrr

Actual European made Licorice
Awesome. Slightly hard and chewy black licorice, the only real licorice. Do not purchase this if you like twizzlers or red vines. If you have tried those brands and want something less sweet, slightly salty, and slightly hard, this is the product for you. I bought a case that arrived today and have already finished the first bag. Would buy again!

WTF price
I love this licorice. When I shop for licorice my first thing to check is the ingredients. With black licorice it is a MUST to have natural licorice flavor through use of extract or other methods obtained through the roots of the plant. Real plant derived extract flavoring is not only good, it is good for you. Black licorice is a rarity in the candy industry... it has medicinal value. What other candy contains ingredients that reduces fat, aids digestive system, heal ulcers, fight infection and even make menopause symptoms less severe. That is why ingredients are first thing to look at. JUST SAY NO to ingredients saying " licorice flavored " , that simply means it has no health benefits and is made in a factory. The use of Licorice EXTRACT is a bragging right for manufacturers. If you click on a black licorice product and it doesn't specifically mention use of licorice extract in the ingredients look elsewhere. Also, if ingredients aren't listed at all...run away. The second thing I look at is price. Some show price per ounce ( my favorite ) while others show only the price per package, which sucks .When they do that I have to take the time convert total package weight to ounces and divide ounces into package price and get the price per ounce. WTF people..do us all a favor. Just list the ingredients and price per ounce for all to see..One concern I have now is that I placed a order for this product in September and paid $22 and less than 2 months later the price has gone up $10. That will definitely make me shop longer

NOT GLUTEN FREE
These are amazing, however, they are NOT gluten free. I'm gluten intolerant, not celiac, so thankfully I didn't get incredibly ill before realizing that right on the package in the ingredients it says "contains wheat". When I bought them it said gluten free and had no gluten in the product photo of the ingredients. CELIACS please stay away from this one.

Delicious licorice but NOT GLUTEN FREE! Skip if gluten sensitive tummy
Delicious if you like chewy licorice. The product page in Amazon listed this product as gluten free - which this product is NOT. THIS IS NOT GLUTEN FREE! If you are sensitive or worse to gluten, skip...I wish I had known before buying. My stomach is messed now since I only checked the package ingredients later, assuming the amazon labeling on the page would be correct. I guess I can make my Danish neighbor with a lot of candy now :(
