Very lite weight wood is used. Don’t know the precise weight but putting it in a bookshelf it holds its own even if the books lean on it.

What is the best kind of glue for this kit?

I use either Gorilla Super Glue (the gel version) or a craft glue, both work great

What is the scale of the furnishings?

Scale is 1:24. Same as the miniature houses and rooms.
