An inexpensive pump that works!
This inexpensive pump is exactly what I wanted. It had enough oomph to siphon up warmed boat oil from my V8 inboard motor. It had to work to get the air out of the line but when the air was purged and the oil made it to the pump it only took a little while to suck out the oil. I was impressed because I used every bit of the thin clear tubing provided so it had to move the oil almost 4' vertically to reach the pump.I have used other manual and costlier electric pumps that did not work as well as this one. Remember it does not produce a high flow, but in my case I ran the engine to warm the oil and the pump did exactly as advertised.

You can't go wrong with this! At least I didn't.
This worked exactly as I had hoped. My GF's car had a bad oil change before she purchased it. Someone stripped the drain plug. When I removed it to change her oil I was rather dismayed. I tried an oversized plug. No go. Other option was to order a plug with an expanding rubber seal that got great reviews but I needed to get the car running on that day, not 3 days later. So I purchased a slightly oversized hardened bolt, filed the first few threads a bit and got it installed with no leaks! that was last fall. Time to replace the oil again. What should I do. I purchased this based upon the reviews. I ran the car's motor for 5 minutes to warm up and thin the oil. Removed the dip stick. Inserted the supplied tube. It bottomed out and would not make the bend into the oil pan. Tried several times. So I left it in the dip stick tube, walked away for 5 minutes to allow the engine heat to make it more flexible. Came back, pulled it out a few inches, bounced it back in a couple times and it went into the oil reservoir. Attached the clips to the battery and the motor kicked in. Within 10 minutes or so it removed 4.5 quarts of oil. The rest was in the filter. I stored it in a plastic bag with the rest of my oil changing tools since trying to remove the residual oil would be impossible, due to the nature of oil. Great unit. I'll be using it on my vehicle as well to avoid the mess.

Cannot recommend such a piece of junk
This pump is terrible. It has such a short duty cycle because the wire leads are very thin and get super hot! I used this to transfer ATF from the bottle and into the 2003 Honda Pilot dipstick port (which a regular funnel will not fit). Luckily the discharge hose is very thin to fit into the small port. The other crappy part is the suction hose is so darn stiff (the larger diameter hose of the two). It's very irritating to work with, which forces me to keep a hand on this hose (to prevent it from popping out of the ATF bottle). I cannot recommend this pump at all. Even if it was $10, I would not purchase it. Too bad it's first use came many months after purchasing, otherwise I would return it.

Epic fail
First time using this pump I used it to pump a hydraulic oil out of a transfer case. I had watched people on youtube use this pump to pump much heavier oils from differentials. It took forever to pump the oil out, long enough I added a charger to my vehicle. When I finished I found the pump case was completely full of oil. The pump impeller housing is leaking oil causing the pump to suck air and leak oil. I bought this pump and put it on the shelf for 2 months before using it or I would have set it back asap.

Works for the money
This is not a fast pump, but will help you change oil on those engines with no drain.Best tip is a properly warmed engine. The pump can handle hot fluids. The included hoses are small enough to be pushed down into dipstick tubes as designed. I use it to change oil in my pair of 1.8ltr Yamaha engines in our Yamaha 242LS. The same engines used in many Yamaha Waverunners.

Looks and feel good in build quality
Looks and feel good in build quality. No doubt about it is gonna do the job well. Yet, as my car is hybrid that the battery being behind and all that...couldn't use it. It needs either a solid jumper or a jumper car.

Surprised by how well it works
I use this for a topsided oil change through the dipstick tube on my Mercedes. Very impressed by how well it works, no issues with overheating when pulling out the 8.5 quarts of oil in my car. Have used about 4 times so far and still going strong, so it has already paid for itself.
