Can this be charged via usb?

No, it comes with a figure 8 (C7) power lead. The USB port is for charging other devices.

Yes it goes a decent volume. Louder than the 4 speakers in my car and much more bass, I use it in there as a cheap upgrade, however I do use it in the house and in the garden. Only need it about half way up to a maximum 3/4s volume.

When will Firmware updates come to android? Had to use a friends i phone to do this. What changes have been made up until now?,

Not sure on the question but from my Android phone I was able to get the latest firmware through the Tribit app installed without issues.

How do i play music on this when i dont have wifi available?

This speaker is Bluetooth, not wifi. However there is a 3.5mm port to insert an aux cable into it for a wired connection.
