I was looking at bokashi bran and then researching how to make it and I decided I really didn't want to mess with storing all that well...mess. Wasn't sure how this would work since this was my very first attempt at making bokashi but I finished my entire first bucket with this and it worked perfectly with no issues. I’m almost done with a second bucket and still using this same bottle and still working great. I should be able to finish off this bucket with what is left before having to get more inoculant. Oh and I’m using 5 gallon buckets. Very happy I decided to get this instead of bran!

There is this horrible stench coming from this. We kept this in doors and immediately I began getting a sinus infection. It put bacteria out in the air to the point I thought I came down with Covid. Luckily I remembered that I react that way to bacteria and quickly put it outside.The bacteria is slow to break down the compost and I haven’t seen much in the way of liquid produced. I believe either the lacto bacillus is either dead in our batch or it just isn’t working out.

Used it now in two batches of food scraps- did not ferment. Sprayed each layer liberally but it ended up smelling like rot after a week. Not sure how they the bacteria can be alive when shipped with in liquid with sugar present..If the bacteria is alive they should be producing gas in the fermentation process but there is no gas in the bottle.
