I have been using these 3M Cubitron II Fibre Disc 982CX Pro discs for several projects for the past few weeks and must say I am so impressed! The quality is outstanding and has far surpassed any disc I have tried in the past. These are seriously heavy duty and whether you pan on grinding or cutting material such as heavy duty metal, these discs should be able to do it with ease! The discs have a rough surface and upon trying them out, they were able to cut through Carbon Steel and even stainless steel.Very impressive indeed! What did shock me is that these are in line (price wise) with cheaper brands. Im sure that this is because you are buying in bulk, but each disc works out to just over £2.50 each which I find very competitive, especially considering the quality. Since the last few weeks of use, the disc has yet to show much wear and tear, so I doubt I would need to change them any time soon.Overall, a clear 5 star product by 3M! There's no denying that if you want to really remove some material then fibre discs fitted to an angle grinder is the way to go. You can turn any project into a disaster as quick as you can say, 'Just a bit more,' using this type of disc....But, that aggressive cut is just what you need sometimes. If you are dealing with really tough to remove scale or want to get rid of a load of material then this is the way to go. And these are properly premium abrasive discs, no doubt about it.Fitted to my angle grinder these rip through anything with ease. They last forever and the level of crusty scale they can get rid of defies belief. These are an absolute must if you are doing heavy duty work.Of course these are just the discs. You will also need to buy or have the backing disc that fits onto your grinder, so don't just buy these and think that's the end.Overall, superlative abrasives.

Yes you can buy cheaper but I am confident they will not last as well as these discs. Having used cheaper discs in the past, the wear rate on them can be poor so is often a false economy. I guess it depends how much and how often you need to use a grind disc.They are in their element grinding or cutting metal although you could use on wood it is possible the discs will clog, but I am unsure as they have not been tried on wood. The discs have a ceramic grain, and can work even on carbon steel which is harder than stainless steel.The disc shows minimal wear after a few uses, so I am confident these will last for ages. They will fit any standard angle grinder as well.5 stars recommended

My husband is an avid DIY fan, he is presently doing some welding and other bits and pieces in his workshop, I know he wanted some discs like these, top-quality ones, as he wanted to smooth down some steel pipes and also welding joints.In the pack you get 25 discs, yes they are very expensive, but as my husband told me this type of quality disc is not cheap, even a cheap one still costs a few pounds and they don't last for very long. These discs will probably be all he needs for a very long time, I watched him use a disc, he has an angle grinder, the disc did not look to me to be very strong, but I was wrong, it is very strong, it smoothed down the steel and the welding joints effortlessly, the disc was still the same, it was amazing to see.I think if you bought a single one or a few it would be cheaper, so if you can find a smaller pack, these discs are worth getting, a quality maker, they will last for years and in fact professionals use these discs, so for the DIYer these are perfect, I have no hesitation in giving these discs five stars.

As I get older and maybe wealthier I will invest in kit that not only does the job but does it really well. I guess I do not want to waste effort and end up with a result that looks like I spent a day with a rusty Brillo pad taking seven layers of paint off a window frame - well sort of.£2.40 per disk sounds and is a lot but the grit stays sharp and attached for one hell of a longer time than I would have thought. Not for the casual weekend DIY warrior but for somebody who already takes pride in delivering professional results (whether pro or am), you need to put these next to your pure carbide router bits, Mafell track saw, Festool Domino and Triton TRA001.

Wow.... These 3M discs are fantastic! These discs are so much better than the other garbage out there so they are far more cost effective in the long run, plus you don't waste working time changing out popped discs. I used op the discs that came with my grinder in 1 min or less. These last so much longer and 'cut' so much better. I use these for all types of cleanup as well spot weld cutting. They work great. The tool is useless without these.

Alors oui, un grain de 36 permet un ébarbage rapide, voir trop rapide parfois.Mais l'usure est beaucoup trop rapide et vu le prix du disque, le rapport qualité prix n'y est plus;un bon disque de 6mm ou à lamelle est probablement 2x plus cher mais dure aussi plus longtemps.Le disque est en fibre et un environnement non chauffé le fait se gondoler ce qui rend les premiers tours de meuleuse peu rassurant.Déçu par cet achat

Anfangs war ich wegen des sehr hoch erscheinenden Preises etwas skeptisch, entschied mich aber wegen der Empfehlung eines Bekannten zum Kauf.Es waren 25 Scheiben im Päckchen, die mir zuerst etwas dünn vorkamen. Doch der Schein trügte, die Teile sind super stabil. Da meine Schweißnähte an meinem Schweißtisch-Bausatz etwas dick geraten waren, musste ich viel nachschleifen.Zunächst versuchte ich es mit einer normalen 80er Fächerscheibe, was wegen der etwas feineren Körnung ewig dauerte und ziemlich viel feinen Dreck im Raum verteilte. Dann erinnerte ich mich an den Kauf dieser Scheiben und rüstete schnell den Winkelschleifer um.WOW! Die Dinger schruppten extrem das Material runter und selbst die dickste Schweißnaht war in wenigen Sekunden geglättet.Ich befürchtete, dass mir die Scheibe jeden Moment um die Ohren fliegen würde, aber sie hielt problemlos die Bearbeitung des ganzen Schweißtischs durch und ist immer noch top zu gebrauchen (siehe Bild der Scheibe und den fetten Haufen Abrieb, der übrigens fast nur aus Metallspänen besteht).Neben der guten Leistung dieser Scheibe, war die Säuberung der Werkstatt eine Kleinigkeit. Nicht so wie sonst Staub in jeder Ecke, sondern alles rund um den Schweißtisch verteilt Kurz gefegt, fertig. Die Luft und die Werkstatt blieben deutlich sauberer, der Zeitgewinn gegenüber einer Fächerscheibe war enorm. Gegenüber den handelsüblichen Schruppscheiben sehe ich den Vorteil, dass die Scheibe selbst fast kein Material verliert und dadurch weniger Dreck macht.Der etwas höhere Preis ist meiner Meinung nach gerechtfertigt, also für mich zumindest.Klare Empfehlung.
