ROBOTIS OLLOBOT PLAY 700

This was the next level gift for my grandaughter. She was so excited when she opened it. It was a bit of a challenge at first. Her mother and her have been looking forward to all the creativity this will bring out of her. We expect her intrest to last a couple years with the possibilities of making even her own custom designs. That is her jam. Her little sister has aquired her first kit(600) and looks in awe at her sisters new adventure! Great gift with 100 stars and recomendations. My grand daughter is 6 abd her sister is 3.

I have used the PLAY700 system to teach TASK and SCRATCH 2 to middle school students using a "2-day weekend" short-course format. The students had an easier time using these bigger rivets than when they were using the DREAM system (in past years). Within 4-5 hours of training, the students were comfortable enough to create their own bots.

My 11 year old loved it. He will do many more things with it than described in the booklet.

Was fun for awhile, once we got it working. But each time we turn it on, we find we have to uninstall and re-install the app to make it work-A LOT of hassle. And after a couple uses, the wires start disconnecting. Have to ask grandpa if they can be soldered back to working condition-we'll see.

I have played around with this kit for about a year now and I would have to say that this is one of the coolest robot kits that I have ever worked with and its price is only 89.95! The kit builds on the very successful Robotis Play 600 Pets kit, which in itself is a great intro to robotics kit for young children. Almost all of the parts in the Play 600 and the Play 700 kits or interchangeable. So if you already have the Play 600 kit then you can combine the two kits to give your kid more building capabilities. I have used this kit in the robotics classes I teach during the summer and I have only got positive reviews from the kids in the class. They like the added remote control capability with an IOS device or android device and the ability to program the robot using the Scratch programming language. Which most kids have already tried and used to learn basic programming with. I would suggest that you buy the Robotis Play 600 pets kit first then if you kids like it buy this kit next to give them more to learn about the field of robotics.
