VERY STRONG GLASS - Dropped from 5 ft. full of iced tea and did not break
All I can say is WOW! I have had this jug for a few weeks now and it has been great to open the fridge and fill my cup with iced tea. I keep it on the top shelf of the refrigerator - so about 5 feet up. This morning, after making a new full batch of tea, I went to put it up on the shelf and let go before it was fully on the shelf. It dropped to the ground hitting the base of the refrigerator and the hardwood floor, but it did NOT BREAK!! The glass is definitely solid and the jug is well made. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Please, don't put hot or very warm water in these.
I bought this to make iced tea. I love it and it works just fine. I've read all kinds of reviews on this and other 1 gallon glass jars. There is an overriding theme from the people who give bad reviews. The glass cracked, the bottom fell out, the glass cracked around the spigot. These work great and will last a long time if you remember, this is a glass jar. I haven't seen any of these that said you can make hot coffee or tea in them and then put them in the fridge. THESE DON'T WORK THAT WAY BECAUSE THEY ARE GLASS, NOT CORNINGWARE. Yet that's the complaint, the water wasn't that hot, yada, yada, yada. but it broke anyway. These crack around the spigot, they won't if you remember a simple fact, it's not a carrying handle. You can't use the spigot to help move it around. If you want to start out with a hot brew method, you have to let the liquid cool off first before pouring it into the glass. I boil a half gallon of water then put tea bags in and let them steep. I let the water cool to room temperature then put it into the jug and add cold water. I don't dilute my coffee, but I cool it completely before filling the jug. I realize that most people know this. I wrote this long-winded review for the people out there that don't know simple things like not putting hot liquid into glass, but still want that nice glass of cold coffee or tea.

Don't put citrus in your dispenser
It's the perfect size for me, not too big and not too small. It took several attempts to install the dispenser nozzle and several leaky fridge shelves later it's on good and tight. It may loosen a bit after it's installed so check and double check it before filling with liquid. I put thin slices of oranges in the fruit infuser and let it marinate my water and it was perfect. The only problem, and it's a aesthetic one, is that the plastic infuser became acid etched from the citric acid and is now foggy in areas where it used to be clear. Overall it's a nice water dispenser.

Almost perfect!
Everything is absolutely perfect about it except one thing which I’ll get to.First, I’m allergic to nickel which people don’t often think about when making products that are going to be consumed and I end up with a swollen and sore lips, mouth, throat and intestinal tract along with a very very upset stomach. And not all mixes of stainless steel are nickel free. This one is (405) so if my beverage is going to sit against metal for a couple days I’d prefer it wasn’t something I’m allergic to. The dispenser is SO easy to turn if it ever breaks or jams you’ll know right away there’s a problem, it’s not that it’s too tight or anything. I’ve always hated ice because it takes up room and just waters down your drinks, and I love fruit infused beverages so these inserts are WONDERFUL!Now the “almost” perfect is that it’s basically airtight- great for sun tea and keeping your beverage from going bad early, but there’s no pressure valve or even something small and hinged near the top to allow a lack of pressure inside to pull air inside, so once it gets from full to about 1/3 you’ll HAVE to open the lid a bit or nothing at all will come out when you open the dispenser.

Helpful tips so you don't make my mistakes
I almost returned this. Save yourself a headache and learn from me. To put the spout on, there are two rubber seals, two metal like covers, one nut to hold it all together. I followed the diagram in the instructions and screwed the nut as tight as I could with my fingers. My first mistake is I made juice in it when I should have just filled it with water to see if it held. The juice leaked out of the side of the spigot all over the table and floor. Sticky mess. I tightened it a tiny bit more and thought I had fixed it but round two of juice going all over the floor in a different spot. My entire kitchen was a sticky mess. I was about to return it.WHAT TO DO::: Instead, you have to get a small wrench inside of there to hold the nut while twisting the spigot. It has to be quite tight and created a seal. Next fill it at least half full with water to make sure that it holds before putting juice in. Now that I have it figured out, I love it! I wish I would have done it right the first time.

Great quality
Heavy glass, sturdy, easy to assemble the spout. No leaks. Charming drinks dispenser. Will use often! Very happy with purchase.

Leaks, cheap quality, do not buy
The entire product screams cheap and prone to breaking. It leaks, the lid does not easily screw on, it is undersized and overpriced. Go to Walmart and you'll get something way better.

Good for the $$$.
I have 2 of these and I love them for the most part. The lids are bad. They leak but you can avoid that by how much you fill it up, not tilting it too much, etc. Trying to find some better lids and have contacted the manufacturer. The wrench supplied for the faucet is too long to operate inside the jar. I can see where people would have a problem installing the faucet. Reducing the size of the wrench would definitely help.We use them for flavored water and sun tea.
