Sheaffer Ion Black Gel Rollerball Pen

I have been carrying one of these pens for many years. I love the way it fits in my pocket. I always have a pen weather I am wearing, jeans, shorts or a business suit I always have a pen. This was to replace my previous pen that I must have had for 5 plus years. Only pen I buy refills for. I am in Sales it is so nice to always have something to write with

As stated above, this pen is the successor to the Cross Ion pen, which no longer seems to be made available. The ink cartridges are interchangeable between the two pens. Compact and discreet, it's a good pen to carry if you don't want to use someone else's pen in these times.

I’m a first responder and I work in an ER, believe me when I say that pens are my life! I love “almost” everything about this, and the reason I say almost is.....I literally lost in the first hour of my shift. The whole purpose of the purchase was to have the key chain pen be attached to my tactile belt so it’s easier access when needed. The snap on cap made it easy to grab, but that design is also it’s downfall. The snap on cap resulted in it being lost right after my first call. I was devastated, this pen writes beautifully (like inkjoy level) and the compact design is perfect enough to fit anywhere. However, to have something so easily fall off for the price, doesn’t make the purchase worth it.

Writes well, but it is bulky and not really comfortable. Cap is hard to remove unless you do it just the right way, and once you figure that out (seller says "break" off cap like an ear of corn), you will understand why it can easily come loose in your pocket. And without the cap, it could leak just like any other pen without a cap. Also, the cap has slits on two sides, which makes me think that there is some risk of leakage. Manufacturer's photo did not show the slits, which strikes me as being deceptive (whether intentonal or not). I'm probably going to return it and buy a disposable pocket pen or just spend the money for a Fisher space pen. I had one many years ago, but lost it.The warranty on the package states one year. The user manual states lifetime warranty to "rst" user. I assume they mean "first" user, but could not find anyone to proofread their instruction booklet in China or the U.S. Their Amazon Storefront does confirm that the pen comes with a lifetime warranty.

I bought this pen as a replacement for an original metal Ion pen, which i was carrying on my key chain and I was afraid I might damage the more valuable model, so i switched it for a less expensive model that works just as well. It carries well in your pocket too, but I don't like to carry objects in my pockets. Being a key ring makes it very easy to break-away from the little black safety devise that protects it from both loss and opening accidently.

Don’t use this pen every day. Already difficult to get extract and retract the ink cartridge to be able to write. Would NOT recommend

I've carried the original Cross version of this pen everyday for 20 years. When it finally broke I was happy that Sheaffer was now making this pen. The Sheaffer version is slightly different, but works just as well. This is a great portable pen you can carry in your pocket.
