Moog Excellent as Usual
Just buy the Moog parts, stay away from local auto parts store parts unless its an emergency. I have bought the cheap garbage from local auto parts store in the past. Its great that the auto parts store parts usual has a lifetime guarantee, but what the point if it fails in a year and they give you a free part which means you have to either spend your time replacing it yourself or pay a mechanic because they typically will not pay for labor or the front end alignment you have to do after replacing some steering/suspension parts. Just buy the Moog part and get better quality and durability.

the truck was in good condition but had been sitting around for about a ...
I saved so much money buying these and doing it myself. The dealer quoted me over $2000 to do all my tie rod ends, ball joints, and idler arm. This was a 2001 F-150 that I purchased for about $3800 with < 90k miles. So... the truck was in good condition but had been sitting around for about a year and a half. I thought I was getting something reasonable and affordable but when I saw that quote from the Ford dealer I was so upset. Especially after just replacing all the mufflers from having rusted out.I spent about $400 on Amazon and spent about 6 hours doing it. It was honestly pretty tough but you can rent the proper tools to make it easier. If anyone wants to know more about doing it, be sure to check out YouTube... It helped me a ton. I have used Moog on my whole front end now and have put about 10k on it with no issues yet.

More meat on the bone
You will have to install the grease fitting and the hole is not threaded. Not much trouble to use the fitting to cut the threads but getting it started can make you say some new words. The ball/head is larger than OEM but the tapper shank is direct fit, this must be a problem they solved (hints problem solver). The larger ball must provide more surface and some other stuff, just remember to pack it with grease after installing it.If you are doing what I did and bought Tie Rod End boots to replace the rubber style with poly then you need to get these and measure first. Energy Suspension part 9.13102R does not fit. Even though they would fit my OEM rods.
