Thick but works
I've been using this at work. It works pretty well and protects my hands, but its thick and you can feel it on your hands. I still haven't gotten used to that feeling yet. It needs reapplied every time you wash your hands as well, which kind of feels backwards from what its trying to do.

Almost as good as gloves! Should have used this years ago.
I use gloves when I'm breaking bolts, but I really don't like them for fine work--which for me is everything besides yanking on stuck bolts. I prefer no gloves when I reach into tight spaces or when I want the best grip on fasteners so they don't drop into the engine bay. Cleaning oiled up hands is a process that usually requires a pumice stone to get it out of your fingerprints, under your nails, etc. This product almost completely replaces gloves for me. I worked it in to my hands before starting the job, including under my fingernails. When dry, it is not greasy and I still feel like I have a sure grip. When I'm done, I can get almost entirely clean with soap and water. It cuts down significantly on the cleanup time. I am really impressed!I will be using this every time I work on the car now. I feel a little better too because oil, grease, and ATF aren't coming into direct contact with my hands, which has to be better for my skin.If you've never tried this, you should consider it. You will pay 10-20 bucks for a box of nitrile gloves anyway (which I can't keep from tearing apart within 20 minutes), so this seems like a fair value against that. Now I can use mechanic gloves for shock and scratch protection, then take them off and finish the job with my treated hands. I put it up there with silicon grease and PB blaster as just a better option than what I was using, and I'll never go back to my old ways now.

Not really sure this does much for me. Wish I knew what it protected against.
I was hopeful this would help protect me from car grease/oil while dealing with my car, or while painting/sculpting from those products that get on my hands. I was also hoping this would provide an easier clean-up afterwards from these tasks.Sad to say that, so far, I am not seeing much of a difference between wearing this protective lotion versus having none on. Maybe I misunderstood how this lotion is meant to protect my hands?Even though it feels like a film on my hands after a thin layer is applied, things that get on my hands still take just as long to clean off versus no lotion applied. Is this supposed to form a protective barrier from absorbing chemicals into my skin? Because it's not very protective of the skin by keeping the substances themselves off. Grease is just as hard to clean off after working with the lotion on in my opinion, same for oil based paints. It also feels like it washes off completely with soap and water. So if you have to wash your hands a lot on the job, you must wash them and then completely dry them before any lotion can be reapplied. This can take a bit and may not be feasible for everyone. Slightly damp hands seem to make it goopy. Mine never dried or rubbed in, and was just a tack-y mess on my hands if they weren't 100% dry when applying. There is no real moisturizing factor to this lotion, just things that help to form that film feeling on the skin. So it doesn't seem like protection by moisturizing.Maybe I just misunderstood how this lotion works, maybe it inhibits absorption of bad substances, but does nothing to keep that nasty stuff off your skin physically? Either way, I received 12 tubes of this lotion, and I am not really sure what to do with it now.

Didn’t do much
I was hoping this would protect my skin from grease and dirt build up from work but it didn’t seem to do much. The way the container is made makes the cream come out too fast. I wish this had worked better because now I’m stuck with 12 tubes of cream.

It does help
This review is for SC Johnson Professional STOKODERM Pure Pre-Work Hand Cream 100ml, 3.3814 Fl Oz (Pack Of 12)My husband works on vehicles on the side, and sometimes does all kinds of other work that causes his hands to get filthy. He recently helped my brother work on his car. They applied this product prior to beginning work. My husband said he feels it did help, when cleaning up. Sometimes, even more so during colder weather, motor oil and grease will cause my husband's hands to become dry and/or cracked. His hands were a bit dry, and cracked areas on some fingers. If he works all day, or off and on for several days, the grease and grime really sets into the dry/damaged skin. His hands will usually continue to be pretty stained up, even after cleaning them several times. When he finished cleaning off the grime, his hands were much better looking, compared to not using this product. I saw that his hands had minimal staining. So, yes, I do think it helps.
