This is an explosion of woodland scent and leaves my beard nice and soft.
I love Pura D'or's citusy beard balm and Scotch Porter's sandalwood and musk beard balm, but so far beard shampoos have been boring. This is the first beard shampoo that made me stand up straight and go daaaang. It's so nice that I now use this for my scalp hair and everything else in the shower (shhhh, don't tell the fuzz). Just rub this into your beard (or any other hair) and it's an explosion of citrus, beeswax, and spruce sap. There's a lot more going on, but these are the top notes for me.My biggest complaint is that the scent doesn't really linger. What remains is definitely nice, but the 'wooooow' smell is only while lathering. Well, that's what the beard balm is for. And I really do like how soft and smooth it leaves my beard feeling, this is definitely a first.Edit: I should love the ginger and beer version (I am a brewer) and I do love the scent, but the only thing I get from it after shampooing is stale movie theater popcorn. Not recommended at all, stick to the other varieties.

I have been growing my beard for the past 6 months, which I believe is the longest it's ever been (nothing impressive, but quite thick). I regularly used the same shampoos and conditioners that I used on my head, but my beard always felt brittle and coarse. With a quick google search, I realized there was a whole world of beard products that I had never known about. This is an excellent, gentle shampoo that lathers into a rich wash for the face fur. The smell is a little unusual, and the "woodsy" description sounds appropriate. However, I quite like the scent, but it doesn't seem to remain after rinsing, so it's really not an issue either way. After rubbing the bar on my face, I will give my beard a good rubbing with these tree-cutting, fly-fishing, bear wrestling weapons that I call hands. After rinsing, my beard feels cleaner than ever. Make sure not to stop there though. Get yourself a good conditioner and/or beard oil/wax to make sure you're achieving your maximum manly potential. Think it's manly to have an all-natural, unkempt, untreated brillo pad filled with tasty morsols of food on your face? You're wrong. It's 2014. You're not a bum. You're a man.I bought this one month ago, and there's still enough to last me easily another month, maybe two. Granted, I only use it a few times a week, so if you plan on using it daily it may not last as long for you. However, I've noticed that where I leave it seems to degrade it more than my actual use. It resides on a shower caddy under my showerhead, and while the water doesn't drip onto it directly, I'm sure it catches some splashes at least. The bottom of the shampoo bar takes the shape of the grate it rests on, so I know I'm losing a little bit of longevity out of it from my placement. I recommend not doing that :)First beard-specific shampoo I've tried. I'm so happy with it though, that it may be the last.Disclaimer: Using it once will not make you look like that dapper gentleman seen pictured on the box with a raging heart of untamed fire and computer-defeating chess-champion intellect. But your partner may think so, and that's mildly important.

Tiny but mighty beard shampoo bar...
When I opened the package for this I was a bit miffed at first due to the bar's 'size'. I don't know why but I was expecting more substantial packaging. But putting that aside, it smelt nice and I read that with this formula, a little goes a long way.I used it that evening on my beard, which was heavy with oils and balms (just needed a good wash). It lathered well, and like others have said, it didn't take a lot to do what it was meant to do. Color me impressed. Beard was squeaky clean afterward, but didn't feel at all dry. After my shower I applied my beard oil and shea butter and I was good to go.So far I've used this bar twice, and really love the smell (which isn't at all overpowering to my sensitive nose), and really dig how clean my beard feels after showering.Pros:It's looking to be more cost effective that other beard washes.Smells woodsy and natural. Scent doesn't linger long.Doesn't leave my face feeling oily after use. Natural oils like tea tree have medicinal qualities so overall and good formulation for beards.Cons:Bar (seems) small, BUT in this case a little goes a long way.Price, though in comparison it seems on par with other quality beard washes. (Why the heck are soaps so damn expensive on Amazon?)Overall I'm happy with this purchase...
