Easy to use. Easy to recommend.
First time using banana plugs and based on reviews, this build type is great and seems fairly flawless. Easy and intuitive to use, works well, and makes connecting speakers and wires a (literal) snap.

Great product, great price.
THese have always been great. I have used a ton of them. Easy to screw together with the rubber coating. Good robust contact in binding post. Not to mention a great value.

Inexpensive banana plugs with a couple suprises. Recommended (see details)
Use CaseI recently starting repurposing some of my older speakers. I have decent interconnectors for my good speakers, but I figured that I could just use some cheap banana connectors for this project.Appearance/Installation/PerformanceI would normally write a comprehensive review, but this is a pretty basic item. All banana plugs are the same, right? Not really. So, these are unusual in that they're so much different than most of the other cheap alternatives.First, the good:These plugs are VERY short, aft of the banana tip, which could be a huge benefit if there's limited space behind a receiver or speaker (perhaps due to the proximity to a wall or cabinet). The plugs can accomodate 10 AWG (or higher, maybe), which is uncommon - instead of a set screw and a crimp (to hold the wire in the plug), you feed the conductor through the base of the bottom half of the assembly, and then screw the top onto the bottom half. This traps the conductor between the serrated top of the guide tube, and the domed inside of the top half. A gasket keeps the halves of the shell from backing out.Next, the bad:The friction connection between the two halves of the connector acts as both the mechanical and the electrical junction. That, combined with the really short assembly length, ensure that there's nothing in the way of strain relief or supplemental clamping. Finally, since the connection is dependent on tightening the connector halves, it would be great the the assembly worked a bit better for that. The bottom half of the connector has a textured rubber ring, while the top half of the connector has knurl marks in the metal. It's a great idea, but (at least for me) the knurling is too fine grained for me to get a great grip.ConclusionIf you've read this far, you know pretty much everything you need to about these banana plugs. They'd be REALLY nice if they had a crimp to grip the insulator and/or had a strain relief. As it is, these are good interconnectors - for the price. As long as you don't mind the cons, these are worth your consideration. Recommended.

These worked very well. Easy enough.

great high current banana plugs
my new electronic load and new-ish power supply both use banana jacks for their connection, which is somewhat annoying since a lot of banana plugs are low quality and low current. THESE are much better. They're sturdy gold plated, with a nice springy basket on the tip, and METAL twist-down cap for a nice firm grip on the wire. (just look at those teeth!) Also the back where the wire goes in is BIG so the entire wire with jacket will fit in, even if it's 10 gauge stranded with a big silicon jacket like what I have. They plug in and don't slip out of the jack when they get lightly tugged on while I work, which is a huge improvement over the old plugs I was using that kept falling out while I worked. The barrels are color coded, but the red is pretty dark and could be mistaken for black if you're not paying attention. They ought to brighten that up a bit. At first I was thinking they're kinda pricey, but then I noticed how many you GET. ok that's a pretty good deal then.

BEST BANANA PLUGS I HAVE EVER USED. Worked very well for me as a practical matter!
The banana plugs worked very well for me as a practical matter despite theoretical & speculative negative reviews. I wiggled and jiggled and got no intermittency to connection. I tugged and tugged and they stayed connected to speaker wires. YES, the centers do rotate. So what? Try to make a noise by doing it. Dead silent. Try to break the circuit. No breaks. This is a design feature, not a flaw except perhaps as a psychological stressor for some users.VERY EASY TOO ATTACH TO CABLES. MOST SECURE I HAVE EVER USED.I'm about to buy a second set now. I'll diddle around with the second set too and see if they make any noise or have intermittent conductivity. If so, I will update this review. But don't hold your breath. Yeah, it did seem odd that the centers spun. But now that it seems to have no effect on the signal, I LIKE it. It keeps the speaker cables from getting and twist tensions. And that makes me feel relaxed, as well!ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE! FANTASTIC PRODUCT! May buy a third set and replace all my old banana plugs.

Forget Dual Banana Plugs
These Amazon Basics banana plugs utilize a clever design where the wire enters the plug directly from behind, making it virtually impossible for stray wires to short out adjacent terminals. These plugs are identical to the Monster branded plugs, but significantly less costly. If you are thinking about using the dual banana plugs on a new receiver you are buying consider this. I bout a fairly high end brand Home Theatre Receiver ~20 years ago (no HDMI I/O back then) and used gold plated dual banana plugs for my speaker wire connections. The dual plugs fit perfectly as the speaker terminals were spaced according to that standard. I just bought a new receiver of the same brand (with HDMI I/O) and assumed I would just reuse the dual banana plugs. Some design genius changed the speaker terminal spacing on the back of the re receiver, so now dual plugs don't fit! Hence my purchase of these Amazon Basics connectors, which will work with your receiver regardless of receiver speaker terminal spacing. This is the way to go!
