I've owned a number of oscillating and stationary lawn sprinklers over the years and this is far and away the best of the bunch for the following reasons:1. Solid and heavy metal frame which makes it very stable.2. Fastest cycle speed -- very helpful when setting the side-to-side "spread" distance to avoid watering the sidewalk. The speed saves a lot of waiting through each cycle to see if you have the coverage spread set correctly.3. Convenient controls to set the forward and behind spray spread (none of my others ever had this feature).4. Water volume control knob right on the sprinkler itself -- another really important feature none of my other sprinklers ever had.If you want to skip all the time-wasting that I've been through over the seasons and utilize a truly precision oscillating sprinkler, this Melnor is the one to buy, hands down. It is a bit more expensive than the less-capable ones (of any brand); but then this is a good example of "you get what you pay for". In the future, it is the only one I would buy anymore. It will do the job very capably.

You can customize the spread of the water, the length and even the force of the water, which is fantastic and makes this a very versatile sprinkler for lawns, gardens and new plantings. I do worry about the plastic framing but for now, about 3-4 months of use, where it gets moved around my 5 acre property, it is holding up and my go to sprinkler for fixed areas (not open pastures where a greater spread is needed.)

I'm giving this four stars even though I returned it. It was missing the quick easy hook ups for a hose. Otherwise it looked very well made the base is all heavy metal. All the workings are all plastic. I contacted Amazon and they could not send me the parts that were missing so I had to return it.

I used this to replace cheaper sprinklers that couldn't cover the area needed. This allowed me to very precisely aim the water where I needed and also allows me to move the sprinkler around and re-adjust to cover the same area. Build quality seems good, adjustments are somewhat intuitive though I did have to refer to the instructions to make sure I had it right. Thankfully the instructions were clear and well written. It took less than a minute to have it dialed in where I wanted. I didn't use the quick disconnects. I never do.

My old sprinkler broke late yesterday, the first time I used it this year (just cycled once, then pointed at the ground). I was comparison shopping online and I saw that Amazon would have a new one to me the next morning. I get up this morning, and there it is, waiting on my porch. The only thing harder working than Amazon delivery drivers may be the Robin with the two babies who was also out there. I really appreciate Amazon's ability to deliver something you need so quickly.

I love this sprinkler. The husband and I both work Monday-Friday so it's hard to water our lawn. The timer on this sprinkler sold itself. I set the timer when I go to work and wala easy peasy. I also love the quick connect that comes with this sprinkler. This sprinkler is worth it's weight in gold.

I wish I bought this sprinkler first before going through 3 other of the “cheap” versions from various hardware stores. This sprinkler has been rock solid, very durable and works well! All the adjustments allow me to get every square inch of the yard. Worth every cent I paid.

Set this up in a snap and dialed in the settings. Being able to adjust the width is awesome as I have a long, narrow yard. So far, it’s working great. Only one day in, so we’ll see how long it lasts. I’m treating all the adjustment sliders with kid gloves!
