before there were video games there were role play books
Delivered ahead of time and in perfect condition by amazon. If your a fan of fantasy role play and if you like reading you will love these books. Get fully immersed in the mystical medieval world and battle dangerous dragons and orcs to complete your quest. Each book is illustrated beautifully. Their covers are enhanced with embossed gold lettering that give these paperbacks a quality a feel. There are two random die throws at the bottom of each page so you can flick through to generate random throws (no need to buy your own die). Unlike a computer game no electricity required so you can play them anywhere for as long as you like. Escape into the forest of doom whilst sipping a latte or strolling in the park. Let imagination be your greatest ally and bring these stories to life. Highly recommend and good value for the price amazon are selling them

Exactly as advertised
Very good value for what can be an expensive book series.Covers and illustrations not as flashy and high quality as Wizard Books versions but still very nice looking books and still same stories.Well worth it.

Nostalgia glow
I’m still crap at these - but now I’ve gotten older I like to take the time to do these properly (rather than skip the part where I die in battle or hold my thumb in the last page I was turning from…) and am thoroughly enjoying a slower pace of indulgence gaming

Same stories, cheaper illustrations.
The books are exactly as I remembered and it's fantastic to get them as a set, but be aware that the books don't follow the same order as the originals, so some of your favourites may not be in here. Secondly, some of the books are brand new and not part of the original series. The biggest issue for me was the poor quality of the illustrations. Compare the roughly shaded versions here to the detailed inks of the originals and you'll be deeply disappointed. I'd recommend the Lone Wolf Definitive Versions to these books, but still a great trip down nostalgia lane.
