Glides through the register break
I want to give Kayata a little bit of love here as they don’t seem to get much 😞.First the bad. Overall finish quality as compared to other Made in China clarinets is subpar. There are a number of subtle blemishes here and there; particularly the key plating. Excess glue here and there as well. On the rose gold version, the mouthpiece played just about every note super flat. I bought the all black version and the mouthpiece on that was spot on. Used that mouthpiece on the rose gold and voila, flatness be gone. So it sounds like they need better quality control. But then again, just about everyone replaces the mouthpiece as the first step in pursuit of that tone, timbre and projection to suit one’s taste.Second, for the win! I was able to completely get over the above gripes when I played it and whoa, I went through the register break like there was none. One of the easiest to play through the break. This is true for both the rose gold and all black models that I bought so I don’t think it’s a fluke. At the end of the day it’s a very cheap clarinet so don’t expect it to be a Buffet Crampon or a Yamaha. Set your expectation to the level of the price point and I believe this Kayata meets it.Happy playing ✌️

Plays flat. Flat and flatter.
Purchased this clarinet not once but twice. The first time after 1 month and 6 days screws came out, and keys were loose. Reached out to Amazon, was told to contact insurance and file a claim for warranty. Warranty could not cover claim and said to contact Amazon since it was a “ seller warranty” I went back and forth. Amazon ended up doing a return and not even issuing me all my money back. I got a portion of the money paid for the first one. Then I turned around and bought it again, the clarinet doesn’t play correctly. Checked screws, keys, took apart and cleaned properly and still playing out of tune. Tried using a tuner and everything. This clarinet is cheap quality, band instructor attempted to figure out instrument, contacted music shop. It’s definitely a manufacturing error.I’m so unhappy, to have issues with both made by the same company. I will return the second one also, and take my money elsewhere.

Absolutely beautiful clarinet
The case is phenomenal, clarinet came with a Reed and cork grease, so it was all ready to be put together and played

Key broke off
Daughter uses in band class, and the key bent and then broke off.

Looks like a quality instrument
I don't play the clarinet, but my older sister did when she was in high school, and she's been hinting that playing again is on her bucket list. I got this one to surprise her with on her birthday in a couple months, so my review is about this instrument and the included accessories present.First off, the instrument comes in a sturdy fabric and faux leather case with a comfortable carrying handle at the top as well as a wide detachable should strap. There is a front zippered pocket and a cushioned internal compartment for the clarinet, both of which close with sturdy zippers. Included in the accessories is a pair of white gloves and other items that clarinet aficionados will no doubt recognize, but which are unfamiliar to me. The actual clarinet is a good-looking instrument that appears rich and solidly constructed.Since I don't play the clarinet, I cannot attest to the quality of its use or sound, however, based on looks and construction alone, it's a gift I'm going to be happy to give my sister for her birthday.

Cheap
Got this for my daughter...1st year in band. Things were missing from the pack when i 1st received it. Within 2 months a part of the clarinet cracked. Then about 4.5 months in one of the pads broke off. I now have to buy another clarinet for her. It's a little pricier, so I'm hoping for the best.
