Does it cook raw meat or just reheat leftovers?

It cooks from raw. I have cooked salmon, steaks and chicken and it works great.

Is it a universal car food warmer and does it have a power indicator light?

Yes, it does have a light, it plugs into a cigarette lighter, I think all cars have them. Not positive though.

so the car has to actually be running for this to work?

It depends on the car. The cigarette lighter type plug has to be live. On most cars, that will require the key to be turned to accessory or on, but would generally NOT require starting the car. I have not experimented with the associated power drain, so if you run it for a long time, it may be that you drain the car battery which is charged while running. Hope this helps.

How big is the lunch bag? Will the zippers stuck when use?
